Amazing! Absolutely loved it. Came for a couple of weeks and stayed for 2 months. A slice of Heaven in Texas. Snowbird's paradise. If you like to hike, bike, off-road, or like to photograph nature, this is your place. I took over 30,000 pictures. Wilderness to explore, hills to climb wide open spaces to traverse. Night skies and sunsets are spectacular. The rates are crazy low. They have 80 pull thru sites FHU. Dry and tent sites. Short and long term rates. Very quiet area. Near town that had plenty of stores and gas stations. The sites were large and had plenty of space between them. Top-notch commercial-grade laundry room with below-average prices. Nice clean bathroom and shower. Convenient to Fort Leaton historic site. Big Bend Ranch State Park and Big Bend National Park. I would give them more stars if I could. They treat you better than family. Group get-together for pot lucks. The hosts, Lori, Kevin, Genie, and Kerry, are second to none when it comes to assistance and maintenance. My thanks to Terry for all his help. I was greeted and escorted immediately upon arrival. I so look forward to returning in my travels. The best part is you get to meet the Belle of Loma Paloma and the treasure of Presidio County... Ms. Maxine. A...

When the owner leads by example everyone else will come out and socialize too. A core group of seasonal regulars come here every year and will put together a group potluck every couple of weeks or so.
It’s a large park with large dirt/sand lots and even then, the custom is to leave a lot between you and your neighbor, so no one feels crowded. Wi-fi is located in the middle of the park and it worked well for me. The edges do not have a signal.
One of the regulars will take people out into the arroyos on ATVs or dirt bikes. It seems to be all private property out there, but the trails are well used.
I highly recommend the place for at least a week. Many end up staying considerably longer if they...
Read moreOur family stayed here for a week and really enjoyed it. They are 0.5 miles to the boarder and Maxine (amazing and lovely person) even let us hike on down to the river and snap a few pictures.
We were there to homeschool our kids and work remotely during the week while also taking some hiking trips in the state and national park. Big Bend national park is about 2 hours awayt and the closest hike into the state park is about 30 minutes. Sites along this route to hikes is amazing so the drive is almost welcomed.
Huge spaces at the park and not too crowded. Very friendly folks there and was able to do laundry for free. Single bathroom and shower are adequate.
Weather was absolutely amazing in early January. High in upper 60s during the day and low 30s (or high...
