My husband, our 4 children, and myself have gone to Betty's once a year for the last 4 years. I checked the website just before the season started and there were no changes to the price ($10 for 1gal bucket). It's my fault for not reading all the signs when we got there.. My 4 kids, their 2 cousins and I went to pick today. We had a full bucket. When we were ready to pay for our berries, she asked if I knew it was $5/person + $10/bucket?!
I understand they deal with people/kids picking berries and throwing them down, essentially wasting them. She said she also has a problem with people eating while they're picking...

$5/person is excessive. I would have spent $45 for 1 gallon of berries, when i can buy a 5lb bag at Sam's or Costco for $8 and not have to stand in the heat picking them.
