Up N Smoke — Local services in Prichard

I am writing this review for the novice who may pop into this store or for the person "in a hurry" and unsure of what to get. Some of the employees profile the customers and if they sense you are a newbie or inexperienced they will bait and switch, overcharge, and sell you something that they need to move out of their inventory. FTR - I am not a novice but I have witnessed this behavior and it has happened to a friend of mine on two different occasions. I have gone in to two different of their establishments and been "profiled" and assumptions made - because I am a middle aged white woman, that I do not know what I am looking for or purchasing. Because I don't look like their typical customer, they assume I can be taken advantage of. I even had one cashier/attendant ask me if I was aware of what delta8 actually was and what it would do to me. As for my friend, who wants to remain anon, the attendant literally gave him a bait and switch product. Told him THC-O was the same as Delta-8. Gave him a different brand than he asked for. Charged him $20 more for what he purchased. (two different stickers on product) My friend was embarrassed to go back in and say something when he realized this had happened. So while this place has some really great reviews and a great selection - know that unless it is the white young man working who is extremely knowledgeable and will educate with the right information - you may get screwed if you are a novice and if you are a woman, dressed nicely/professionally, and old enough to be in perimenopause that you will likely be treated as if you are dumb and have no idea what...

This location, by far, is my favorite UpNSmoke because of the staff. That said, they rarely have consistent vape flavors. It never fails that I come to love a flavor and the next time I come in to by replacements, they don’t have it. And I’m a heavy vaper so I’m replacing every few weeks. It’s not like it’s months! Be careful folks! I purchased a set of their Brown batteries from their Schillinger Rd store and on the side of the battery itself it had CAUTION! Using these batteries in any E-Cigarette devices is STRICTLY PROHIBITED! And the owner of these stores knows this now but refuses to remove them from his stores. Folks if you are using these type of batteries be EXTREMELY CAREFUL! These type of batteries could possibly blow up in your hand...
