My team and I have had the honor and joy of working with Muriel, Tiffany and the Little River Cooperative team since 2015 on multiple projects, including community gardens for private businesses and activating larger-scale public spaces. In the first project, they created the largest urban, organic edible garden in the county at our venue, The Wynwood Yard. We are currently working with them again in our new space, The Doral Yard, and recently worked with them on a large-scale pedestrian activation in Downtown Doral.
Muriel has brilliantly worked with us over the years to design and upgrade our gardens, always providing thoughtful insights into the layouts, materials and specific plants to grow within each area of the space (for each season and depending on our culinary needs, etc). The LRC team has provided a large range of additional services, including monthly maintenance to the gardens, leading community workshops and educational events, and jumping in for a variety consulting and garden-related projects as they arise. They are by far and away our #1 choice and recommended vendor for these types of projects, as they consistently display the highest level of creativity, professionalism and integrity. We are deeply grateful to the LRC team for designing, curating and tending to our beautiful gardens over the years. They have brought life and beauty to our spaces, and have shared a great deal of knowledge with our team and guests...
Read moreMuriel and Tiffany and their awesome team are an absolute pleasure to work with. They are incredibly knowledgable and thoughtful about their work -- down to the sourcing of the components in their productive soil blend to the material of their plant labels. I've both taken their informative courses and had them install gardens -- veggie and pollinator ones -- for our family for several years. They have done the research into the unique needs of a Miami vegetable garden. They know which plant varieties work here -- when to plant them, how to harvest them, and how to handle pests in a way that minimizes harm to the environment. The vegetables and plants they have introduced us to have brought endless joy for our family. Our kids happily eat the kale and cucumber and broccoli that they pick themselves and show their friends how they can eat the edible flowers from the garden. They also love to visit the farm/nursery. I never have to worry that there are harsh chemicals on our plants and our beds are full of butterflies! I couldn't recommend LRC more highly. If you're considering a veggie garden,...
Read moreThere are so many wonderful things to say about Little River Cooperative, it's hard to know where to start. First of all visiting their beautiful nursery in the redlands is a treat - you can buy healthy, high quality plants selected specifically to thrive in Southeast Florida, as well as take home information and supplies such as fertilizer to care for them throughout the season. Little River Cooperative is more than a place to buy plants; Little River Cooperative has served as a teacher and leader in Miami, constantly sharing through workshops, social media, and their newsletters knowledge and resources which empower the local community to continue growing, and develop knowledge and relationships with plants to become better gardeners. I have learned so much about the specifics of growing plants in our Southeast region of Florida from attending workshops and trainings led by Little River Cooperative. Their spirit of empowering the community really makes Little River Cooperative stand out. We are truly lucky and enriched to have this wonderful business in our...
