Tar River — Local services in Princeville

I love the new Boat Access and pier. It's Beautiful down on "my rivah" even when Mother Nature is "all stirred up" and the winds howl and the waters flood their banks and go wherever they so choose. If you live near water, as I do, one understands that it's the price of admission for an "E" ticket ride... sometimes she gets a bit Bumpy. HOWEVER! I do have ONE complaint There's no where for folks to put their garbage therefore they throw it on the ground or WORSE, in the RIVER. I'm NOT happy about LITTERING!

@NCDOT and @NC Wildlife Resources Commission what can be proactively put in place to STOP the LITTERING??

Garbage cans? Dumpster? Cameras? Recycle Bins? Doesn't matter to me HOW the problem is solved, only that it's solved.

This past Friday, I went to the river with my other half and our 🐕 dog. It's so beautiful and peaceful and even quiet (during the week... hahaha) We go at least once a week. Last Friday, I picked up TWO FULL grocery bags FULL of LITTER! This is unacceptable. Most could have been put in a Recycle Bin. The WORST thing I picked up? A used, SOAKING wet USED Adult Female (or small male) pullups type Adult Diaper. ADULT DIAPER! Let me repeat that; adult

Someone Old Enough To KNOW Better! I'm a responsible conservationist. I hate Littering. Not only for what it does to our waterways and landscape but also our wildlife. @NC DOT and @NC Wildlife Resources Commission PLEASE get INVOLVED and Support the citizens that take the time to pick up Other People's trash and garbage (even though we didn't put it there) Help US keep NC Green and Clean Maybe @River Keepers?

This is a private campsite reservable by contacting Xplore Kayak Tours. It has a large lake and an Island like peninsula on the far end of the lake.
