Your "safety parameters" are absurd when it comes to the pit/track seating for the truck and tractor pull events. We were not allowed to sit against the cement wall so went to the infield bleachers, only to be removed from there and told to stay behind the white lines at the start or finish lines. Then my husband was threatened with security removal by the promoter after being told BY SECURITY that we could sit there. My family has been participating at this fair, either on track or measuring the distances, OR BOTH, for at least 30 yrs and there was no consideration for the puller's families and pit crew at all this yr. I went to the fair office to speak to someone of authority only to find no one there and having some older woman call someone stating I was ranting and raving .. to which I responded that I was "stating a valid point "...I was not rude, obnoxious or causing a disturbance . I wanted to speak to someone about the issue. Apparently, the TV CREW shooting the event is more bulletproof than the puller's families ...btw....I've been in the pits at truck and tractor pull events for 51 yrs and have been hit by one thing. I have more chance of being injured by a hockey puck at a Pens game than something at a truck pull. Safety is a number one priority for the pullers. This was simply a power trip by the person in charge of the track, since the infield was utilized for the Friday night event but was completelyvoff limit for Thursday night. Not filming...
Read moreI have been coming to this fair for years and no matter how old I get, walking through it makes me feel like a lid again....and I think everyone else who lives in this area and has for a while can agree with me that we have a decent fair...the shows are always good, and u can't complain with good music.... But yesterday I experienced something new, and it surprised me.. I wasn't sure about getting a bracelet or not, I only wanted to get on a specific ride, so I asked the woman working the ticket box who's name was BETH if I had to get the bracelet or I could just pay for the one ride.... 🤔 she treated me with instant smug cheek (resting b face) and was just absolutely miserable with life inside that little box. I cannot say that I blame her it's gotta be an irritating thing sitting there listening to all those super happy kids giving off super happy vibes..I think shes in the wrong profession if she don't like loud noisey kids,or people who ask basic questions....other than that, thanks so much for plenty of good memories, good and bad lol, your a great...
Read moreHmm..well...They haven't fixed the exiting strategy in years upon years, so when you leave, you sit in the lot for 2 hours or more just to leave the parking lot so most people leave before the last events. Still, after years, many people smoking in the stands and they successfully hide from the security every time. They smoke at the benches and especially near the kids' rides. You have to duck and weave with your kids while holding your breath. Bring nasal spray and aspirin you'll need it. Everything else was fun. It was too hot in the rabbit shed I'm surprised no rabbits died. Sadly, won't be going back until it is family friendly enough to breathe fresh air and not secondhand smoke and get your kids and family home on time for bed and work. It would be nice to see more trees for shade, especially near places to eat, so to avoid sunstroke as most places dont let you have shade unless you buy food there. Will not be returning until it becomes more health, family, and time friendly. Someone let me know if that...
