Monterey Bay Equestrian Center — Local services in Prunedale

WHAT A HORRIBLE PLACE! We gave this as a gift to our granddaughters for Christmas, they were so very excited. On 12/26/19 we drove 2+ hours to ride on the beach. We arrived at the beach and waited until Monterey Bay Equistrian Center (Connie) showed up about 20 minutes late!!! The horses were unloaded and then the trauma began! The equipment she put on Kochi broke as my 7 yr old granddaughter mounted, thankfully she was not injured as she slipped and the entire stirrup fell to the ground. Another saddle was placed on the horse that Connie (the employee) complained about their equipment being rusted! We were able to finally get mounted and start out on out ride 30-40 minutes late. We went on the trail toward the beach, as we descended a dune one of the horses (Kiwi) laid over on my daughter-in-law. Connie didn’t handle this problem with an ounce of professionalism, she finally got the horse on its feet and told us the horse laid down to scratch!! Ranger, the horse I rode, was extremely flighty! The horse my 7 yr old granddaughters rode kicked the other horse, the horses got spooked, bucked, bolted and spun in circles. We couldn’t wait to get off! As you can tell we did NOT have a good experience with this company. The following day I got a call from Monterey Bay Esquistrian Ctr, asking for the paper gift certificates that we gave my granddaughters or they would be charging my credit card again! My daughter-in-law called them and was told over the phone that we were never to return to ride their horses again.....needless to say we would NEVER go back there and I’ve written this review containing a portion of our horrible ride so that hopefully YOU don’t ever experience this awful company. Thankfully no one was injured and we (my family) can laugh at the memories we made that day!!!! AVOID...

I just tried out this beautiful COVID 19 safe activity Sunday October 19 at 2pm with my fiancé and let me tell you it was her first time riding a horse and she loved it! All worth it and I’m saying this because im a customer service expert I follow treat others how you want to be treated but at the same time in too straight up and I had no bad vibes at all asking 1 million questions since the moment I booked with the kind people on the phone to meeting Connie our guide who is an angel down to earth PATIENT horse expert and our horses who are super trained and excellent for the job till the end I had an incredible time! If you’re thinking of doing something fun like this truly truly recommend someone child or adult to get off your phones and do this while you’re alive. Thank you Monterey bay equestrian center for your service I will be coming back here with my mom dad and sister for their bdays for sure or how we Bay Area people say fo shizzle oh and my children will be going to your petting zoo if it’s open thank you thank you...

What an amazing company that provided me with a great experience. Carlos was my guide, and he was just spot on! A little of my story, so you can realize this ride was a VERY big deal to me. I used to LOVE Horseback Riding. Then life happened, had kids, gained weight and ultimately was too heavy to ride for 27 years. In the last year, I have lost 89 pounds, and finally am where I will keep a horse safe if I ride. So, for a celebration, we called MB Equestrian and they fit me in that day, private ride on the beach, and I cannot say enough about how perfect this beautiful experience with Carlos was. He was safety conscience, clearly loved his job and loved these animals. I'm a spiritual person and there were so many moments where I felt God's grace was on this ride with me! Thank for healthy safe horses, and the care that I can tell you and the staff take of them, and thank you for Ranger. He was such a gift to me that day. I have so much gratitude for such a great experience and highly recommend this...
