This was an amazing hike! The views at the top are incredible. You are really in nature. We only saw three other groups, all at the top. We were the last ones off the trail around 5 pm.
We parked our car directly on the road leading to the trailhead. It definitely takes at least 2-2.5 hours to get to the top and about just as long to get to the bottom. Our group is in âabove averageâ shape â none of us adamant hikers, but regular exercisers!
As you go, be really aware and follow the small orange flags on the trees. We somehow lost the trail on the way down in a group of 6! If it doesnât feel right, it probably isnât đ try to remember landmarks, because the right trail still looks different on the way down! Use AllTrails and make sure you have a fully charged phone (just in case!).
We finished our water by the time we got to the top â definitely bring more water than you think. We were so grateful we brought food as well, so consider bringing snacks too.
The ropes start a little more than halfway up the mountain. The gloves would be helpful, particularly when going down, but no one in our group had them, so you can definitely do without them. Nearly everyone in our group also just had running shoes, but hiking boots definitely would have helped.
We did this hike when it hadnât rained in days â I would definitely check the forecast of the days before and weather for day of. This trail would be really difficult, and dangerous, if really wet.
I recommend starting this hike as early as you can to avoid a bit of the heat and to give yourselves a bit of buffer with daylight. There isnât really any shade at the top. When you get close to the top, keep walking through the branches and brushâŠIt will open up!
Lastly, long sleeves and pants would probably be best. We got scratched up from different branches and plants in shorts and tanks.
Good luck!
P.S. If you are looking for a good post-hike meal and beer, try âEl Refugioâ! Itâs about 15 minutes away and...

Si desean ir deben tener buena condiciĂłn fĂsica hay un tramo bastante largo que es subiendo agarrados de sogas, muchos obstĂĄculos en el camino, pero vale la pena.
