Yunque Ziplining — Local services in Puerto Rico

I have never thought to try zip-lining before, however as part of an activity for a birthday trip in San Juan, we had to do one per the birthday girl’s request. We booked this tour online directly which was straight forward and eliminated any hassles with getting to the site. 

Once there, we was hooked up with our guide who lead us to the site.

The first task was a walk up a very steep cement hill and next we were fitted with our harnesses, helmets, and gloves before we head to another steep hike to get to the Zip-line. 

This was my most FAVORITE part, Once we got to the first platform, there was a quick demonstration on a practice-line of how to position yourself on the zip-lines, and how to use your hand to brake near the end of the line. Joalex and Reynard were our guides and we were a total of 12 people. As Joalex start explaining and demonstrating everyone was intense and scared but he made very funny jokes and explained thoroughly which eased everyone and puts them to excitement. I personally thought that was a VERY SMART move since I was thinking of bailing on my friends then after this I got so excited to try the zip-line. After hearing the two AWESOME guides explain I felt It was pretty straightforward, and soon enough, we were on the first of about 7 zip-lines.

Joalex and Reynard made sure not to have us worried about hooking ourselves on and off the lines as this was all done by them. I felt safe for the entire time, and had the time of my life flying through the trees. This was an AMAZING experience and Joalex and Reynard made it even more exciting and memorable with their great customer service and skills.

My husband and I had the best time with Yunque Ziplining — this was our first time ziplining, and it absolutely blew us away!

Yunque Ziplining exceeded all expectations. From start to finish, the entire experience was the perfect mix of excitement, education, and pure fun. Our guides, Paola and Gabriel, were amazing — incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. They made us feel comfortable and confident, while also sharing fascinating facts about the El Yunque Rain Forest.

The five ziplines built up perfectly — each one more exciting than the last. Thanks to Gabriel’s steady encouragement (a mini therapy session, really!) and clear instructions, I found the courage to step off that first platform — and the rush afterward was incredible. We were completely hooked after the first one. The final zipline had us flying over the treetops with those breathtaking views was absolutely unforgettable.

The tour offered so much more than just ziplining. We hiked through the rainforest, learning about native creatures like snails and spiders, and got a closer look at the plants and trees that make Puerto Rico’s ecosystem so unique. We also rappelled down a 30-foot rock face and crossed a short suspended bridge — adding even more adventure to an already unforgettable experience.

A wonderful experience! Miguel was the first one to greet us at the meeting point. We were joined shortly by the rest of group. Reynard was so hilarious and he entertained us while clearly explaining the safety instructions and patiently answered questions from the group. Brian and Roberto helped us into our gear and were very patient and kind. All 4 individuals were so warm and friendly! They care for each person in the group and make everyone feel included, which is something rare. They were also very knowledgeable about the forest since they've been working there for several years! It just goes to show they love what they do making it an awesome experience for participants.

This tour is ideal for singles, couples, and families with kids. The ziplining experience includes 5 ziplines for varying lengths with a mini hike and rappelling session in between. Make sure you look around and take it all in- the rainforest is SPECTACULAR! We saw plenty of mango, banana, papaya and lime trees. We also saw some interesting insects! Miguel being a biologist knows all about the flora and fauna about the forest. At the end of the tour they provided cold water snacks and local sweets (these were amazing!). We were left wanting for more!
