Heritage Landing is a up and coming community development just in its early stages of build out. The overall acreage is vast so the course lies in a mostly undeveloped or under construction phase, half the course is lined with cookie-cutter homes the other half barren. The course was laid out first and the homes/condo's are being built around it. one day the course will be picturesque but right now you play in between what is a construction site with all the sights and sounds that go with it.
Fortunately the payback is you play a very new course that is very well maintained, beautiful fairways and glass top smooth - fast greens. Water plays almost on every hole, while you check for gators out the corner of your eye. paid as low as $29 with GPS cart on a Sunday afternoon. One small peeve is they restrict cart access its seems like 30-50 yards from the green on some holes so everyone is walking about and back to cart.
Tee boxes go from challenging Silver to the lady friendly Gold, lots of long Par 5's and tricky 4's. No outside coolers allowed and on this day the beverage cart was seldom seen, They are still working on oasis stations (ice machines, water and restrooms) so you get the water coolers every few holes. Being off season (Sept) it was a little loosey-goosey, no starter or Ranger, kind of a thin crew but super friendly, they know they are sitting on a budding gem. Play a round before this place is fully populated and probably becomes a residents only...
Read moreAddress of club provided incorrect – it is NOT Heritage Landing Boulevard, it is Tern Bay – so arrived late after driving in circles for 30 mins. That’s ok, I made it!
Eventually arrived to find no one at the outside “starter” desk, so went to the toilet – a johnny on the spot. Flushed the toilet & was immediately attacked by A LOT of mosquitoes that flew out of the loo. Bitten many times before I escaped! Not a good start! Starter just laughed when I told him the address was wrong & the loo needed attention!
Picked up a cart from the starter & drove about .5 miles to the first tee. Had to reboot the GPS to get it to recognise the first tee. Had to continually reboot GPS & it went to adverts without giving me a single reading on the first 9. My own GPS didn’t recognize the course as it is too new!!
After 9, I tried to get a new cart, but was told that ALL carts were the same – no GPS! Wish they’d mentioned this earlier! Starter just laughed & said I needed to go “old school”. But they don’t have “old school” posts to show yardage!
It was quiete windy – I can manage that, but the mosquitos were swarming on the course the entire 18 holes despite the wind! That’s how bad they were. Obviously course needs spraying for mosquitos – worst bug infestation I’ve ever played in! Had to resort to using my alcohol sanitizer to stop the itching, as did another player that joined me.
I mention all this because it’s a really good course, but my worst golf...
Read moreEveryone completes a google review on the course, however, I need to tell you about living in the condos which were slapped up with very little concrete between the ceiling and floor. If you don't get a top floor you are screwed. Just walking shakes the whole apartment below, which is me. I pay $2095. a month, my sister never stays there because she can't sleep. The upstairs noise is profound even when I am using my ceiling fan, a floor fan and a rain sleep machine. All the renting companies do is "talk" to them upstairs but the noise never stops. They won't let me out of my lease after paying 1st, last, and 1 month security, unless I lose my security and God knows what else. I rent through Crimaldi and they rent thru Tropical Isles Management services (Ft Myers) I have not slept in months - Don't own or rent the condos unless you don't care if you have PEACE. I work in a medical facility/and spend Monday thru Friday working 10-12 hour days, but my Home is NOT...
