Vassey Nursery — Local services in Puyallup

This is a fantastic nursery. Most of the Staff is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. They have more greenhouses across the street where they keep the plants that are heading over to the main retail nursery and a number of plants I was looking for were still in that nursery "across the street". I was disappointed as I am looking to do some serious landscaping and need some plants now. Could not get a straight answer as to when those plants would make it over to "sell", only that they have been really busy and would happen when they have time. I struggled giving 5 stars due to my last encounter with the lack of stellar customer service, but all of my other visits have been nothing but excellent. Wonderful...

The three main Nurseries in the area are Vassey, Portland Ave, and Watsons. I always hit up all three but Vassey first, because they have better prices, but mainly traditional selections not too exotic, then Portland Ave, because they have a slightly better selection and median prices, Then Watsons last, because they have an Epic houseplant selection, but verry pricy. Vassey's greenhouse is usually full of classic annuals rather than exotics plants, which isn’t my thing. But they have hidden Gems in their shade section occasionally. I learned though if you hesitate and come back another day for something less common, you may not see it...

very hard to find. Very pretty, and very pricey. Maybe it's the excellent layout and artsy way they arranged their displays that drove the price up and made things so difficult to find? I can't say anything about the customer service even though there were lots of employees--since no one approached me, or asked if they could help.
