First of all, this was a one night stop for us. I know the reviews were very good and I remember the good comments about the owners as well. I did end up speaking with Gail regarding an incident we had and she was very pleasant to me and my wife.

The reason I ended up calling them that night was because the office was closed and when we arrived there was an SUV sitting on our reserved lot. Seems like there was a party going on in the cotton gin barn and one of the participants had to much to drink. From what I gather someone there took him home so he would not be driving. I was glad to see that for sure. My concern was that even though the owners were not present a “brother“ of Gale, I believe, was there. They made it a point to put a traffic cone on the lot beforehand to prevent that from happening. Obviously it was ignored. Not blaming the intoxicated guy but the brother should have keep an eye on it for their customer, us.

They did ask us to move to the lot next to us,!which we eventually did. Two things wrong here. We didn’t know anyone here and just drove a long distance from Florida and frankly we were both exhausted. Last thing we needed was having a stranger telling us to just move to another lot without really knowing if he was who he said he was. Hate to say, but People do lie. Thats why I needed for the brother to connect us with Gale to verify it.

If I owned that business I would want someone to do the same thing. Don’t forget there was some drinking going on, so that added fuel to the fire.

We wish we could have stayed longer to tour the cotton gin.

We hope to stop by again some day as this was likely an isolated incident and was a...

I booked this location because it was a little past the halfway point of our trip. The day before leaving I called to verify that we had our reservation and paid for the site. The lady who answered was very nice and took care of payment, told me what site I was in and how to get there. All set. A few minutes late she called back and said they had a cancel and moved us to a spot that you basically drove right into. Great and very appreciative. Long drive and horrible traffic going through Dallas. By the time we got to Ole Town Cotton Gin I was ready to set up and relax. However, when I got to my spot, there was a extremely nice rig in our spot. No problem I figured there would be something on the office door for check in. There was not, just a bunch of envelopes with letter for you to fill out to find a spot. What? I was not in the mood to fill out any paperwork telling the RV park what spot I was going in, especially since that had already been established. I called the after hour office line and spoke to another nice lady who told me to pick out a spot and take it. Normally I would have been okay with this, however, I had already spoke to them the previous day and knew where my site was supposed to be. Why did they put someone else in my spot? Why couldn't they "find a spot"? I have my ideas that I will keep to myself. I decided not to stay here on our way back and don't plan on using them again. I can't say that I can recommend this place, but it is a spot to stop off at if you are traveling and need a night to stay somewhere. Maybe your experience will be a bit...

Can't believe that I have missed this place on our various trips through this area. Won't happen again as this is one of the best small RV parks that we in which we have stayed. Small channel selection, but good cable quality from a satellite feed with both the major "cable" news channels and one of the best WiFi connections I've seen while on the road. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip. The staff was great, gave a little history of the place. Easy to access from US-287 just north west of Quanah, TX in the small community of Goodlet, TX. Plenty of long pull thru and back in spaces and each space had a concrete pad and picnic table. The primary suggestion that would enhance the stay would be the addition of a well grassed and fenced dog walk. Train horns can be heard in the distance, but not enough to disturb conversation or my sleep, I actually thought added to the rustic feeling of the place as the old gin mill building has been converted to office space. As mentioned aabove, we will be back...

Ole Towne Cotton Gin RV Park is the place to park your RV for a stay in the Quanah/Childress area of the Texas Panhandle. Spacious pull through or back in sites available with full hookup and 50 amp. The Cotton Gin houses a small store and an office. If the need arises, the Cotton Gin has an area for events such as banquets or reunions. And...in inclement weather, the Cotton Gin has a basement to keep guests safe. There is a separate bath house and laundry facility with two each washers and dryers at a cost of $1.50 and $2.00 respectively. Washers run about 35 minutes and dryers run about 45 minutes. There is a seasonal pool (excuse the photo, it was taken during off season) and a nice dog park for the furry family members. The manager and the owners of the park are amazing, kind, and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our time chatting with them during our stay! In the future, even if we were just passing through, we would stop by to visit with them again.

My wife and I travel full time. This is our first stay at this park. We spent some time with the owner, she gave us a tour of the camp explaining the antique equipment in the group area. We have been in Texas for the last 8 weeks and appreciate the warning about snakes. Several things we have learned about RV parks. The cable is always hit or miss. Also, there are many areas out west where TV reception is poor. This is not the camp's fault, but the reality of the West's wide open spaces. If consistent TV reception is important, get a satellite (we did). We look at WiFi the same as TV. It is hit or miss, mostly hit for email, trip planning, etc. We never plan on being able to stream. We look forward to staying here again.

The park was located right off the highway. It was a smallish park but the sites were kept neat even around those who were there ling term. The sites were gravel and somewhat level. Their laundry and bathroom facilities were clean - a little dated, but generally okay. The pool however was atrocious! It look like it hadn’t been cleaned since it was installed! Sand, dead bugs and leaves littered the pool not to mention the rust stains around the edge of the pool. Nasty 🤮 with the exception of the pool - the place is okay for an overnight stay.
