Nice market, when we were there they had a good selection of fresh and smoked fish. We picked up some smoked fish dip🐟. Not as good as smoked mullet in the keys but very tasty. We grabbed some crackers and this made a great dinner with some drinks on the beach at McClain State Park just down the road. Parking was plentiful and ready in and out for a large pickupšŸ›». A little tight for a class C or sport Freightliner. There is a road where we saw 2 class A RVs parked. There is also a restaurant on site so you can enjoy somebody else cooking and cleaning up. Adventure krewe tip: Give this review a like šŸ‘ Get the fish dip, some wine and crackers and enjoy a beautiful evening watching a sun set and eating some smoked fish dip and enjoying a drink.

Best Fish Sandwich in the county, maybe even the western UP. Fried Whitefish is great. They got those light crispy fries. The Coleslaw is meh, not sweet nor tangy. It’s like vegetables in a cup hanging out. Tables to sit at inside and outside. Warming, there seems to only be a porta potty for a bathroom. I’m not holding it against them because the fish is awesome

Great little road side market. Only reason for 4 stars was the unfortunate off-putting fish smell. I know its a fish shop, but I've been to others that weren't half as bad. It was the end of day, opted for the frozen fish vs the fresh case only because of the smell. Got back the campground and fried the fish in cast iron. It was spectacular!

As a first time customer and fan of fish tacos, I was eager to try the Whitefish version here. I ordered two on traditional corn tortillas and asked them to add their jalapeno crema for a little extra kick. First, let me explain that I understand that "tacos" in Michigan are not the same product as tacos in Mexico. Folks in the Midwest seem to abhor spice and flavors beyond what ketchup, mayo and ranch dressing provide and when it pertains to tacos, corn tortillas are more typically the pre baked, folded, crisp shells rather than the real masa corn varieties. So I was pleased to see that Petersons used the traditional soft and warm variety. However, the kitchen doesn't know how to prepare the tortillas properly. I think mine had been nuked to warm them - a huge no-no in taco world! As a result of not properly cooking the tortilla on a hot flat top griddle, it was dry and broke into multiple pieces as I picked it out of it's Styrofoam togo container. So - rather than enjoying fish tacos, I ate a "scramble" of the ingredients all mushed into a pile cut up into fork worthy pieces.... Not good eats.

As to flavors, I suggest you ask for a side of their jalapeno crema as the tacos otherwise lack enough liquid and traditional "fish taco" flavors. I was pleased to add their version of Pico de Guillo, however it too was just a dry onion - tomato relish lacking in flavors of spice, cilantro, lime and salt.

Too bad that the local tastes dominate this "tourist driven" restaurant which, while popular, has not done it's homework to provide what could be a huge profitable winner...

Not a bad pet store but not the best either. My aquatic plants and fish I bought from them are doing good all except one plant that died within two weeks when I first got them. I thought maybe that plant just needed more light or that it needs more time to adjust but it turns out it was an ā€œaluminium plantā€ that is semi- aquatic and not fully aquatic. It was fully submerged in the aquariums when I purchased though. Since it was just the one plant out of 6 that didn’t make it I took one star away. I have been meaning to get around to writing this review for awhile. It’s been two months and the rest of the plants are doing very well especially with CO2, high powered lights and EI dosing for nutrients. Will still shop here though since it was only one plant that I had an issue with and did not bounce back. Plus they are the closest store to me. Please don’t sell semiaquatic...

My husband & I were in the Copper Country in late October visiting some of my family and stopped by to get some smoked fish. Ended up buying some salmon from Chile as well to make for my sisters and their husbands for dinner. So glad we made the stop. The salmon we cooked up was delicious. And the smoked whitefish chunk and fillets didn't disappoint either. The smoked fish took me back to my childhood when my parents would buy some from a friend at church. It was always around Christmas time so it was a special treat. Lots of happy memories. The smoked whitefish is gone now so we'll be ordering some for shipment soon. And we'll probably order some lake trout too. We would highly recommend a stop here if you're looking for fresh Lake Superior fish. You won't be...
