It can be packed here on the weekends especially holiday weekends. Parking on the beach is $15 for one-time or $30 for annual pass (Jan-Dec). Some cars do get stuck in the sand but there are guys driving around pulling people out of the sand (I guess for a nominal fee). Parking can be very tight and nearly impossible to find Labor Day weekend. People do fish, swim, and smoke...

Been here 2 yrs in a row during November. Trailer camping on beach. Awesome experience, water is clean and very warm. Parks dept works all day keeping things clean and tidy. Nice white sand with no garbage or sea junk. Fun waves to swim in. Nearby Freeport for grocery. Galveston only 45 minutes away is also...
