First time in here. Was driving by on my way back from an appointment. Saw a guy and asked him about a sandwich place. He mentioned this place 1/2 a block away, said "he likes their cheese steaks". I ordered a cheese steak f/o American cheese. Meat cheese and onions had good flavor and fair amount of meat for $11. The roll id ditch. They advertise some local bakery they've been using for 45 years. Im sure the bakery makes a lot of good stuff but this roll was way to soft and no chew to it. Im born and raised in philly and been eating cheese steaks 1/2 a century. Anyway, it was good for a small town. But a better roll would take that cheese steak up a notch. Im sure the bakery could improve on it if they desired. Anyway its a very nice market, with a good variety of sandwiches and whatever else youd need. Stocked well ! Im a cheese steak guru ! Been eating them since im 6 years old. My mom loves them so as a kid id walk to the corner bar, go in the side door to the lady cooking in the kitchen and give her my moms note. Take it home and we would have it for lunch or dinner sometimes. So keep that in mind. Ive eaten at every landmark or up and coming cheese steak joint in philly. So I know what a cs is supposed to be. This is great for that area im sure. But for philly, Not with that roll. My 3 star is based solely on the cheese steak (roll) and not on the market/business. Its a nice business and been around forever based on the newspaper they have their menu on. If i lived in that town, id frequent the...
Read moreWe have been to Bud’s several times before and had great experiences. However, today’s experience was pretty horrible. We came in and ordered 4 breakfast sandwiches. We then waited over 30 minutes for them to make those sandwiches, for them to then bring them out and tell us they ran out of something and couldn’t make one. So we just grabbed one that was already made so that we didn’t need to wait longer. We then went outside to eat and realized that 2 of the 3 that we got were made incorrectly. We then had to wait even longer for them to be remade. Hopefully this was just a random mishap and will be...
Read moreThis was a roller coaster of emotions. Cute little country market with a grab and go box (there was a grill guy so I am pretty certain I could have ordered something from him). Steak, egg & cheese sandwich and hash browns for under $10. The hash browns were hard as rocks. I liked the big soft roll for my sandwich. Good amount of eggs. Decent amount of meat but it was a touch dry. Definitely needed some seasoning or on a everything bagel. Very nice guy (doing a lot and) running the cash register. A few things I really like and few things...
