Fostered 3 dogs for them, the lady that runs it Anne, said we could return them if there were any issues, 2 of them were chewing into my drywall so we said they were an issue but we wanted to adopt the 3rd(she fought and survived parvo so my wife and i became really attached). She insisted we return all 3 and tried to pull the whole 'its still technically our dog' card when we insisted that we wanted to keep her. Anne said she didn't have much room so we held onto the two that were an issue for over an extra month after we initially said they were destroying my property(walls, floors, and furniture), in the meantime she was not doing anything to find a home for them. She then refused to honor a spoken agreement that they would help us spay our only other female out of what I can only assume is spite. The whole time we were fostering we were trying to find good homes for both dogs as they were sweet babies but they needed a home where they would have more personal attention instead of trying to make it work in my house with 10 other dogs. After dropping off the 2 dogs, my wife asked if we could go in and take pictures of all of the dogs at the shelter to post them in all of the facebook groups she's in from Valdosta all the way down to Tallahassee, and Anne refused. Im furious to say the least, why would you not allow us to help try and find permanent homes for all of the dogs in the shelter, especially when you complain that you don't have room as it is? She tried to make a guilt trip comment that theyre so low on space that the dogs will have to be kenneled together, well Anne, that's just perfect, they absolutely love each other and would rather be crated together than apart. I also dont believe that theyre so over flowing, I dont work there but I walked the outside of the property and they have about 4 separate empty outdoor fenced areas and more open kennels. The whole experience is just angering, we tried to help, and because it wasn't working she backs out of an agreement, tries to take the 3rd dog when we were wanting to adopt her; then we still try to help by offering to post and find homes for every dog that's available for adoption, and she's so petty she refuses. They dont even have pictures of any of the dogs on their Facebook so I dont see how theyre trying to find homes for any of them. Im not going to say not to adopt or foster animals from here, on the contrary, please do. Save any animals you can from this sad and terrible place, and this spiteful lady. They all deserve...
Read moreThey online harassed a person who tried to rescue a neglected dog that was found on the highway. They posted her number and her name with a falsified story. This "rescue" refused to help a neglected dog found on the highway. Everywhere was closed and when called they said to put the dog back because it was probably close to it's "home." They left the dog with food and water forcing the shelter aka rescue to take in and care for this poor sick dog. Then they Facebook post a completely different story then what actually happened trying to make this person seem like an abuser when all they were trying to do is help this abandoned and neglected dog. Extremely unprofessional, untruthful, and disgusting these people are. I would never give this place money. Their "rescues" are also kept outside. What kind of place is this?? Animal control needs to make a visit. Please don't ever adopt or trust them to assist any animals. I feel horrible for the poor animals they have in their care. They obviously just wanted a sob story now in order to get the dog adopted. Despicable...
