Southern Furniture — Local services in Radford City

We have been to this store on a few occasions looking for just the right piece of furniture. Be it small or large, but a particular piece that just ties everything together. So far each time we have been to Southern Furniture, we have found what was needed and functional to that space or room. Honestly their prices are reasonable compared to other stores, and you also have the option to purchase the floor display if needed. Staff is friendly and personable, no sales pressure, no nonsense. You could literally go to that store and ask questions upon questions about a furniture item and not purchase anything, and still the staff would be courteous to the end. Southern Furniture is truly a good furniture store, they may not have the massive square footage and items your use to from other stores. However they have a warehouse right across the street, and have a quick turnaround if you need something ordered and delivered. So again take the short drive to Radford, and give this store a try, friendly staff and customer service, fair prices and some really good and sturdy furniture and accessories. I wish i could tell you our sales rep name, but we always appreciate his help and willingness to answer all questions. One very important thing about Southern Furniture is that it has 2 levels with a set of stairs, like climbing a mountain. If you have a fitbit, you will get your steps in for that day. But humbly and seriously, give them an honest try if you're looking for good quality furniture at good and fair prices . As always, this is me and my wife humble and honest review of Southern...

TL/DR :

Sales people were friendly ... Customer support was dismissive, unhelpful, and extremely slow to respond about the ottoman we purchased that gouged our wood floors. :-( Wish I could give their support a 0 Star.

Longer Explanation:

We purchased a chair & ottoman from Southern Furniture back in July 2021. The ottoman we needed to pick up from them in mid-September.

We picked up the the ottoman from their warehouse and it came with the feet uninstalled.... which ended up seriously gauging our wood floors because of several exposed staples on the bottom of the ottoman.

NO ONE from Southern Furniture (sales or support) told us that we had to install the feet ourselves or that we had to ask them to install it before we picked it up from their warehouse.

This is not IKEA... and we didn't expect to have to build our furniture. Their customer support was extremely dismissive and unhelpful when I emailed with with the same images attached here.

It took them two weeks to reply with essentially:

'Sorry this happened to you, you should have asked us to install the feet.'

A genuine apology and even a store discount for our next purchase really would have gone a long way to helping us feel heard...

Easiest buying process ever. Great customer service in store and during delivery. The previous couch we ordered from another vendor (Grand) shipped our 1st couch in the completely wrong color which took nearly a year to receive.
