This college presents themselves as being a Christian University and that is so far from the truth. EU does nothing based off of Biblical principles as it pertains to the running of school and ensuring that the students know the importance of having God as their foundation. There is nothing in place to help the students grow spiritually or help them remain in alignment with God.
As we all know college years are the years in which the enemy works extremely hard to pull people away from God and knowing this it was disappointing to see the lack of programs in place to push students in the direction of strengthening their relationship with God and understanding Biblical principles.
Additionally, a majority of Eastern University staff including the Professors are Eastern graduates which makes me question the level of teaching the students are receiving and further question if in fact Eastern is producing Graduates that are literate in their fields of study. In order for a Professor to be effective their skill set must be beyond what they were taught at the University that now employs them. So if we look at an Eastern graduate transitioning to an Eastern employee I think it is safe to assume that those individuals are just continuing on with following a broken system from a business perspective and bare minimal from an education perspective as that is all they know.
I would further like to point out that the dormitories are dilapidated and all have extreme building code violations which if Delaware County was made aware would result in fines and perhaps the closing of dormitories until repairs are made.
Before you make a decision to agree to allow your child to attend Eastern or perhaps attend yourselves please take into consideration the warnings that are being given in the form of the reviews posted.
Please also note Parents, that if your child lives on campus Eastern will not make you aware of any struggles your child may be having including but not limited to mental health struggles or substance abuse struggles. This campus is not a dry campus as they portray and many of the students are struggling and I am sure their parents...
Read moreThis is not an educational institution. This is an indoctrination camp for extreme viewpoints.
Forcing students to watch extremely biased material from a teacher's far-fetched, unbiblical, extremely conservative one-sided view is not education. Education is the teaching of facts and presentations of both sides so that students can use critical thinking skills. Education is not an instructor spewing out their perspectives that doesn't even fully relate to the material.
In my first class in the MBA program here, the instructor was teaching that price gouging is good for society, that there's no such thing as corporate greed, the rich paying "their fair share of taxes" doesn't make sense, and was openly slamming politicians. That is NOT education! That's indoctrination, which leaves no space for disagreements or differing viewpoints. This leaves no room for individual thought or critical thinking.
Any good lecturer will present both sides of an argument and allow students to wrestle with the information to form their own educated conclusion. At the very least, they'll teach the material in a neutral manner. I don't appreciate any school trying to force one side or the other in their lectures. Present the facts... ALL the facts and ALL sides of the argument. Don't unnecessarily drag politicians into lectures, especially if you don't intend to discuss the other side/perspective. Don't champion one side without presenting the opposing view.
As a Christian and ordianed minister, I'm highly disappointed that a "faith-based" college finds this to be acceptable and even more disappointed that their teachings are far from the faith they say they follow. Nowhere in the Bible are you going to find Jesus teaching that price gouging is good for society, nor are you going to find Him supporting the idea that the poor rightfully should pay significantly more taxes than the rich. #readyourbible #geteducatednotindoctrinated

Read moreI just finished my bachelor's here. Good programs but to call it a Christian university is joke. It's more like a secular university that is still somewhat sentimental about Christianity. Incessant pro-lgbtq messages and no gospel actually preached in any part of their curriculum that I can recall. Also, the heresy of universalism is taught in a required course (Ignores Matthew 25 among many other passages). Their faith statement is just not remotely true in their practice. They are aggressively, VERY LIBERALLY minded. The Bible is an afterthought if mentioned at all and treated as just another culture for the most part. If you want to learn about what the world is presently churning out, you can find it here. It is a very WORLDLY school. I still grew here and it wasn't a total waste but definitely NOT a place to grow in faith or your relationship with Jesus Christ. You will struggle to continue to have a sincere faith if you go here as again God is typically an afterthought if ever at all mentioned in...
