Snelson's Venison Shop — Local services in Raleigh

I just got my our deer back from Snelsons. I have to say I am disappointed. Yes they are clean. Yes they have vacuumed packed meat which is great! I have had three deer processed at Snelsons. Last year we felt that the good size bucks that they processed were light on their return at 30 lbs and 34 lbs. so I decided to process my own and it was a small buck and came back at 37 lbs. This year, we took them a large 10 pointer that was larger than any of the bucks from the previous year. When getting the meat back I weighed it and it came back to 25 measly lbs. Needless to say, I will not be taking them any more deer to process as 100 dollars for 25lbs...

Be SURE to read all the signs and information in regards to processing and product pick up at Snelson's which does provide accurate information. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT, listen to any of the employees or what they say! It contradicts what the signage states and is misleading. There is no effort by management address the contradictions, make amends for the misinformation from THEIR employee, or the deer meat lost in the process. You will get an apology.... and that is...

I was very pleased with their ground meat and steaks. The meat was packaged perfectly. The ground was bagged nicely, and the steaks were vacuum sealed. The meat was provided at sub zero temperatures which made transport very easy. The staff is profesional and courteous. I was not a fan of the teriyaki Jerky they produced but your milage may vary. I will try peppered next time. I will continue to use them if I bag one...
