UPDATE(12/31/2020) I received a check in the mail for a refund of my initial deposit. I'd recommend to do your research and get stuff in writing/ email when handling this college BUT I can say they did honor my request to give me my money back after having miscommunication/errors.
UPDATE(12/10/2020) Emailed some folks and talked about possibly getting my deposit back, will update this as I learn more.
I applied when I did with the understanding is be able to set up part time schooling (as I work a lot of hours) and talk with someone before the school year started.
I called many times and apparently there was no one for me to talk to about setting things up with???
Then I get a bill in the mail for a full on board tuition cost AND room and board.
So I withdrew my application.
Oh yeah, and this all happened after I paid a massive fee($200) for them to do paperwork/handle my application. (Which I never got my cash back for) I was never able to set up or look at classes or even talk to a counselor/ person to figure out scheduling
They don't do part time schooling
They were a nightmare to get in touch with and communicate.
Made promises they couldn't keep and took my money and ran.
If you're applying for full time schooling maybe things will be different I can't attest to that...
Read moreMy daughter applied to almost 10 colleges nationwide. She was accepted to her top choice college in Connecticut and thus will be attending college there . I had to write a review for Vermont Technical College because I have yet to encounter a more unprofessional college admissions department or admissions system to date! The admissions department of this college is a total and complete disorganized and unprofessional mess. It took many emails to get simple answers from the staff, they all had different answers to very basic questions, the respond emails were riddled with misspellings and grammar errors, the "wait list letter" my daughter received came both not even sealed shut and also signed with a marker! When I asked what number she was on the so called "wait list" they said that they don't do it that way and that they just have a general "pool" of applicants that didn't get accepted that they call a wait list. Just terrible. An embarrassment to all Vermont...
Read moreAttended my brother’s graduation at Vermont State University, Randolph Campus. A rare kind of place, tucked into the quiet hills like it’s got nothing to prove and doesn’t need to.
The grounds were clean and cared for, with the kind of stillness you don’t get in city skylines. Staff moved with purpose, but never pushed. Friendly. Accommodating. Human. They made the whole day feel less like a ceremony and more like a shared victory.
Not every institution earns its reputation in how it treats outsiders, but this one did. You remember the feeling more than the speeches. I left knowing why my...
