Excellent Recreation Area: Fishing, Hiking Trail, Picnic Area, Wheelchair Accessible, Latrines

This is not only a great place to fish but also has a picnic area as well as a hiking trail.

We fished off the spillway and caught some walleye, catfish, and bass. We saw other people catching 20lb and 30lb fish. We definitely need to rethink our gear. I had no idea fish that large were in there.

I love that it's not buggy. We didn't have any flies or mosquitoes try and ruin our fishing experience. It was very pleasant fishing off the concrete pier.

I think it's also great that there is wheelchair accessibility all the way down the ramp to the fishing pier. That is such a plus for those with impairments.

The short "hidden pond trail" is nice and tranquil, with the trailhead off the parking lot to the left. There is good signage, with the trail very well marked.

There are a few picnic tables: two on the side we were on and more on the opposite side.

A small warning. Although it is great that they provide both male and female latrine toilets, they are not kept clean and it stunk—bad!

Overall, though, I absolutely loved our first visit and plan...

Great place to wet a line. Caught probably 40-50 fish this day . Was fishing for bluegill to have a nice fish fry . Brought home about 15 good size keepers. Caught a Redhorse sucker which I hadn't caught in some years and a Log Perch which I had never caught before . Also caught a beautiful juvenile carp . Have had good luck here in the past as well having also caught spotted bass, white bass, small striper and even a couple small walleyes . Great place to take the kids as there is plenty of flat areas for to fish from . Easily accessible for everyone as a matter of fact . Restrooms right in the parking area so also a...

Needs to have more accessible paths to the water, especially for the elderly and disabled who still love being able to get to the water instead of having To watch from the sidelines as the rest of the family is on the water all because they cannot make the trip over those the large boulders/rocks and the rough terrain! Especially on the south...

I never knew this was here. I am in a wheelchair and it is challenging to find a place to go fish that also serves the public who are handicapped. It’s not impossible, but it is challenging. I spent the day here with my son the other day it was pretty cool and I liked it a lot. I’m gonna go back there quite a bit
