Loony's Pub — Local services in Ranier

I really want this place to succeed. Rainer is a great town with some really friendly people. Whether it be the muni bar or any other joint, I've never felt less than welcome. That said, the beer they brew here at Looneys is simply bad. I was there in June of 2017 and 3 of the 4 beers were hardly drinkable. They had a sour edge to them that didn't feel intentional. As if maybe they had a bacterial off flavor. Also there was a bitter finish that I could only describe as soapy. The IPA was so sour and bad I could not even tell you what the hop profile was. This is a great dive bar in a great location. Usually frequented by great locals and tourists together. They really need to up their beer game or I fear they will wash out with the rest of the bandwagon jumpers who have tried their hand at the tap room brewery trend once the craft beer craze comes...

I have been wanting to stop in at the brewery for some time and I'm so glad that we finally had the opportunity. We had the opportunity to talk with one of the owners for a while and it was a lot of fun. We tried a lot of their different craft beers and I would have to say that they were all very good. You can come by car or by boat, they have a wonderful dock out in front of their place for you to dock your boat, they have a very large patio and deck so you can enjoy the views of the lake . I have to leave a review here so that people can better appreciate this place, because I see a lot of mixed reviews. I’ve traveled many places, I’ve been drunk in many bars, and I’ve met a lot of nice people. However, this small bar, right on the docks of the lake, had the most hospitable people I’ve ever met, and the best bang for my buck in drinks I’ve had in the state.
