Mervin, Betsy, and their crew were incredible to work with! From the beginning, they were very communicative, quick to respond, and answered all of our (sometimes many) questions. They always showed us grace and patience. After deciding to book with them, we were offered a tasting, which was great! Mervin was very generous and provided us with plenty of extra water as well as left coffee for our dessert time even though they didn't provide them. Two days before our wedding they even let us come and pick up the plates, napkins, and plastic ware so we could set up the venue/tables with them. The week before our wedding I got a call from Betsy to confirm everything and touch base about allergies and go over the plan. We also learned the week of our wedding that the venue did NOT provide trash cans, bags, or removal (this was a shock to us and the catering team), but Mervin and the crew were on top of it. They informed us this was switched on them that week as well, but were going to bring trash bags and remove the trash from the venue. They did a great job too, because I never even noticed any trash through out the day or during clean up. Before they left for the day, someone checked in with my husband and I and made sure they were good to leave and that we were happy. Truthfully, happy is an understatement. We received so many compliments about how this was the best food ever served at a wedding and we can certainly agree! We are still enjoying our leftovers as well. My husband & I cannot recommend Mervin & his team enough! Brady & I first met Mervin in April of 2023 when we were invited for a taste test for our August 2024 wedding. When we arrived, we were invited inside & seated at his family dinner table where Mervin & his wife were serving us fresh meats, sides & desserts. We felt right at home with them! My husband & I are huge BBQ lovers & when I say this was the best BBQ we've ever had - we mean it! Everything from the homemade rolls, fresh vegetables and smoked meats were an 11/10! We knew we had to have them cater our wedding. Fast forward to our wedding on August 3, 2024 and our guests & us sincerely had the best meal. Our guests would not stop coming up to us throughout the night complementing the food & asking where it was from. We are still getting people RAVE about all of the food that Dutch Country Catering made & multiple people have already reach out to us wanting to book them for their events. The charcuterie display for cocktail hour was almost too pretty to eat, the mashed potato bar was a HUGE hit and everyone went back for seconds & thirds for the pulled pork, BBQ chicken & brisket. Absolutely wonderful food in a totally unique, family style, Amish kitchen atmosphere highlighted by the King family's very young children delivering several of the tasty dishes to the table with the appropriate greeting, "Hot Buttered Peas, Sir." This is by far the most humble and down to earth dining experience and be certain to save lots of room for their wonderful assortment of deserts. There is nothing like it that I have ever experienced. They pass the plate for your donation - $20 a head is what is anticipated, but you can donate whatever you wish!! Go and enjoy this and you will return many times as we have and we continue to look forward to coming back here again and again. There is no A/C so you may want to avoid June through August if you cannot handle the heat, but they do have several large fans, which typically make it very pleasant. temperature-wise!! Please do not ask to take pictures of the family, but you can take as many pictures of your group as you want to. If you have a heart, their children will grab it and never let go.
