I am giving two stars only because the store was fairly clean, they had NFL items and a nice selection of other ornaments and Christmas decor items. When my husband and I went in we immediately said “Hi” to the worker and she said “Hi” back. IMO first opportunity missed, asking if we needed help finding anything, introducing herself or getting out from behind the counter. We were browsing and we could hear the other female employee come over and start talking to the first. 2nd opportunity missed with no one coming over to see if we were still doing good, needed a basket or if they could take the items that I was carrying in my hands to the counter. Who knows I might have bought more. I think there might have been a total of 4 to 5 people customers in the store. While in the store the two female employees and an older man (worker, owner, not sure) were all talking about their personal lives and we got to hear all about the ones grandchild who was 13 and just bought a car even though they can’t drive yet. At some point I did wander over and set my items on a side counter and wandered a little more until my husband was done looking. 3rd opportunity missed to check in on me since I was right there to see if I was ok, needed help or what have you. We finally get done and go to pay and the lady just started ringing us up. 4th opportunity missed, did not ask if we found everything ok, start a conversation about the items we bought (chiefs and gnomes), or where we were from. The second employee began wrapping the items and they continued to talk as if we weren’t there. 5th opportunity lost for the second employee to greet us (the paying customer). When I asked about using the restroom, even though there was one inside (I’m assuming employees only). One lady said do you want an umbrella it’s outside. 6th opportunity lost - oh I’m so sorry we don’t have a public restroom inside but there is one outside in a separate building. Nope it was cold and raining that day and by the time I got to the bathroom I had mud on my shoes and the bathroom whoever had to clean it was going g to have their work cut out for them. Not sure if I’d return...

Read moreAlright, let's drop some truth bombs on this so-called "Christmas Village" near Rapid City. Yo, listen up, you folks misled and astray, Drove out to the sticks on a bright March day. Heard whispers of cheer, a festive delight, But the "Christmas Village" was a desolate sight. Claiming they're open? That's a straight-up lie, More like a ghost town beneath a gray sky. Tourist season's done, the welcome's on ice, Guess their business model ain't exactly precise. Pulled up to the scene, anticipation high, Only to find a ladder reachin' for the sky. An old dude paintin', lookin' grumpy and grim, Told us point-blank, "No shoppin' for him!" Talk about rude, with a brush in his hand, Like we invaded his personal promised land. Said they were open, that's the information we got, But apparently, our business meant absolutely squat. So here's a message, straight from the heart, This "Christmas Village" is fallin' apart. Out of season, out of touch, and frankly quite bleak, Save your gas money, find cheer somewhere sleek. Don't believe the hype, don't fall for the spiel, This ain't Santa's workshop, it's a raw deal. Next time we're lookin' for festive and bright, We'll steer clear of this place, day and...
