I have been wanting to come here since moving here in Oct 2021, finally as a family we decided to brave the rain and go check it out. It was lovely! The selection of goods were lovely and the delicious selection of goodies were so organized and eye catching. I have to give this the one star because the woman who was there was so overwhelming and she was on top of me and my children the ENTIRE time. Every single time my kids hands went anywhere near ANYTHING she was telling them not to touch. I would have been fine with a “you break it, you buy it approach” but she was absolutely awful. By the end I was sweaty and felt SO unwelcome. I would have been fine being warned but my children were NOT out of hand and honestly were quite well behaved. I’m pretty stern about the behavior in stores so they know better but this woman was completely out of line! At one point this woman YELLED at my child for touching the face of a doll. She told us by the end that she was filling in for the owner so I’d like to come back for some goodies maybe without the kids. Read moreCame to House of Scandinavia whilst waiting for family visiting Reptile Gardens down the road. It was kind of busy when we stopped. We've been to a few similar shops in other states. It's fun to visit shops like this in places you would not expect them. They have a very wide variety of items for sale here. Viking stuff of course, foods and sweets, T shirts, hats, books, cook books, and a whole lot of other Scandinavian related things. My wife, who is second generation Danish immigrant, enjoys these stores and liked House of Scandinavia a lot. She even found a nice Christmas decoration to buy. It was a good stop for folks who have been coming to the Black Hills for years and for people who like the...
Read moreWhat a great shop! My friend and I stopped in while visiting the area, and we ended up spending about an hour looking at all of the different items. There's a great selection of things from all Scandinavian countries. We most enjoyed looking at the books and kitchen items, and there are tons of other things, including food items, clothing (like sweaters and clogs), cards, Christmas ornaments, dishes, jewelry... You name it. I love baking and was impressed with how many cake-baking and lefse-making tools they have. The woman (owner?) working in the store was very helpful and friendly, too. Would definitely recommend stopping in and doing a little shopping for yourself or...
