I have never had such an unpleasant time in an emergency room. I waited an hour in the waiting room throwing up my guts while pregnant and no one offered me a bag, I had to go ask for one. Then just when I thought they were admitting me they sent me back to the waiting room because they had no "rooms". Yet there were maybe 4 cars in the parking lot. I finally got back to a "room" which ended up being a STORAGE CLOSET. They said "well it's better than nothing" yet I didn't even have a nurse call light, when my iv kinked I actually had to get up and leave my room for them to fix it (which I got yelled at for, they said it was my fault) after I sat there for 15 minutes waiting for someone to come fix it and after waiting for my actual nausea medication for another eternity I was still throwing up. I ended up getting sick on the floor because my bag fell and I couldn't reach it, so a nurse comes in and yells at me for throwing up on the floor like its her job to clean it up, rolls her eyes at me then doesn't pick up the bag for me and proceeds to go talk about me to other nurses right outside the door. Out of the whole team that was working on me I felt like ONE nurse actually was pleasant with me. They discharged me without making was okay first. I even watched the people in the next room leave yet I couldn't move rooms. When youre feeling like you're dying from dehydration and stomach pain the last thing you want is to feel like is an inconvenience and that's how they treated me. The janitor who cleaned up my puke was more helpful and kind than the any of the nursing team. Absolutely NEVER going back. I could've had better help from a...
Read moreMy fiance and I went here last night because she sliced the tip of her finger off. The Dr and other nurses were great given the fact we probably should have went to urgent care for the situation, but in a panic we ended up here. We had a tall male nurse who had to be the most unprofessional health care worker I have had the displeasure of encountering. He had the worst bedside demeanor and would/could not answer any of my fiance's questions stating that the discharge nurse would handle it. He never disinfected the wound or cleaned any of the dry blood off of her hand. Even worse, the wrap he placed on her finger was a joke. I could have done a better job with paper towels and duct tape. I ended up taking her to urgent care this morning near us and they were in disbelief of her bandage and the fact that all he did was put neosporin on her finger and didn't disinfect it. I have already reached out to the patient advocate at the hospital to file a formal complaint. The gentleman is about 6'3" and I believe he has a prosthetic leg judging by his gait. Avoid him like the plague and trust me, you will know who he is.
I'd like to add that everyone else we dealt with including the DR, other nurses, and the woman at registration were fantastic. I hate to see one pitiful worker ruin the reputation of others, but this is an experience I will never forget and it will make me think twice before we...
Read moreI will never return to a University Hospital and I think it's important for people to release that Health Care professionals are licensed to practice and I'd rather them not practice on me especially with the bed side manners I was shown. I will be honest there was one very sweet and caring health care worker who made sure I received food and she was exceptional and rare. I am not sure why but the quality of medical devises and training at UH is obvious in comparison to other Hospitals. This I might have over looked yet they lacked to provide the stabilizing treatment of my immediate healthcare needs. I am grateful that God and Gabriel harkened to heal me for this could have very well had serious effects on my health for their negligence. I would also like to express my great concern that anyone who provide you with a Hipaa Laws disclosures implying that the patient is familiar with these landmark health privacy laws yet breaches a patients health care information carelessly is in serious violation of the authority delegated to them by God. I hope that with this information they use it to improve because that just might be their saving grace. And I hope that this review may be a saving grace to someone else who is unsure in choosing a health care provider that is right for them and their needs. Health Care Is A Right, Not...
