I taught the “Learn to Skate Program” on Sunday mornings for 3 years! At times, I was the only parent present on the ice for weeks at a time! Yet, many of those “whortee, tortee, I’m better than you” parents want to know “How come their “Little Johnnie” or “Little Mary” isn’t skating better than “Little so and so because my daughter/son is better than him or her!” Yet, none of those parents would dare to go out on the ice for fear that 1) They can’t skate and their child will find out and shatter the perception that he or she may have had of “All World Mom or Dad!” Or 2) The adults that can skate and could potentially help whoever was out on the ice, they won’t do it! I don’t get it! So if you are reading this, whether it’s ice skating, playing baseball, playing soccer, or any other team or individual sport, please come forward, Pitch-in and help. You don’t have to be a former pro, Olympian, or Division 1 College Star to throw your hand in the air and help out! We can help out now as parents or pay the lifelong penalties for failing to do it!
