Played The Highlands course on 10/6/18. First time playing here. The good: beautiful setting, great staff, short but challenging course, greens run true, the BLT in Baggers pub should be called the BBLT (bunch of bacon, lettuce & tomato, best I've had in years). The OK, course was in a little bit of rough shape but this time of year that is to be expected, hole #17 is a bit gimmicky, straight down hill (149 yards with a 150' drop) but I chuckled when I first saw it. Cart paths are getting to the point where some major work is needed but I hear that is in the plans. The bad: really nothing bad to say. Does it need some work, yes, but all courses do. Don't expect to hit your driver on all par 4's & par 5's. This is more of a shot making course than a gip it & rip it course. Only suggestion I have is add a course map to the score card or have a separate map as it can get a little confusing getting to some tees from the previous green (I never got lost). It would also help first timers know where to place your shots, not knowing cost me 3 or 4 strokes. If you play the Highlands look back towards the river from the #2 tee box for a great vista! Green fee, cart & warm up bag of balls was $50 & well worth it. Felt more like a drive thru the bluffs with some golf thrown in, than golf with scenery. Looking forward to playing the Lowlands...
Read moreCourse was in really good condition. We played the Highlands course and it did not disappoint. The fairways were in good shape. Except a lot of off chamber shots if you miss fairways though. Big greens make for easier approaches. Spent a lot of time repair ball marks (not just my own), which makes for a less than desirable putting service. Clubhouse staff was very friendly, and they were clearing and sterilizing golf carts after every group. Definitely recommend playing this course, not sure if it's required or not, but if you play the Highlands course definitely get a cart. There are a few holes that are a 2-3 minute drive from each other. Lastly, course could use a few more markers as the course criss crosses a little bit. There were 3 or 4 times where my partner and I were wondering which way to go. Keep it on...
Read moreNot sure about the lowlands, didn't play it. But the Highlands course was amazing! Played it last weekend and the views were crazy. It only cost 48$ with a cart and you HAVE to take a cart. It is so up and down that only a billy goat would survive walking it (there is actually a sign on a hole that says 2 1/2 min DRIVE to next tee box). Hole 10 and 17 were about as extreme as i have ever seen when it comes to elevated tees. 10 is a 600 yd hole that drops 100 ft into a narrow woods lined fairway and 17 may be 140 yds but plays like 90. Anyone who likes new different courses and doesn't mind losing more than a few golf balls has to check this course out. One downfall, bring extra refreshments. Unlike most 18 hole courses, you never go back to the clubhouse after 9, never saw the drink cart and the concession stand on...
