Needed a break, so packed up the kids to go chasing waterfalls 😁... We settled for Crystal Creek vs Boulder Creek falls, as we couldn't find the "open" road for the latter. So glad we visited Crystal Creek Falls! Easy walk in (got an issue with my knee)... Paved all the way up... Beautiful when you get there... LOTS of beautiful butterflies in the foliag , and they are more than happy to post for pictures 🦋💕

We didn't have a lot of time for exploring, but it's on our list to go back 💕. Next time we'll climb to the top of the falls and check out up there😎 Totally...

This place is so calm and relaxing if you go off season. 2023 has had some great amount of rain and I got to be here even before spring had started. Had the place to myself on a Saturday for almost 4 hours in the morning.

Lovely place to relax and eat an easy meal. The trail to the falls is paved and is wheelchair accessible. There’s huge camping area. Main parking is limited but there’s an extension just off the main road.

Be careful if you choose to go close to the water. There’s small mud slide areas and is...

This is being rated 5 stars because its such an easy walk to get there. Its a tiny one and you can have your kids swim there. It's not deep at all. The only problem is trying to find a spot when it's crowded. They have pretty good decent parking. First you'll think the trail is gonna be all dirt to get there cause of the parking. Once you pass the dirt parking it actually has a nice walking road. Usually ill bring...

How to see NINE waterfalls along Northern California’s waterfall highway 👇👇 📍 Save this post for summer hiking inspiration! Starting point: ☀️Potem Falls This waterfall is right off of the parking area (.6 miles round trip) making it a quick stop on a waterfall crawl! ☀️Burney Falls The trail to get to the bottom is currently CLOSED but you can still see the falls from the upper viewpoint. ☀️ McCloud Falls (upper, middle, and lower) We recommend hiking the trail that connects the 3 waterfalls which is 4 miles. You can alternatively drive to each waterfall. ☀️ Faery Falls This waterfall is located about .7 miles from the parking area and can be a bit hard to find. Once you park, head UP the forest road do not take the trail near the parking lot. ☀️Hedge Creek Falls A waterfall you can walk under that is right off I5! It is an easy, short walk from the parking lot. ☀️ Whiskeytown Falls A multi-tier waterfall that is accessible by a 3 mile round trip hike! Make sure once you reach the falls, you take the stairs to the left of the falls to see the upper tiers of the waterfall. Ending point: ☀️ Crystal Creek Falls This is a paved, very short trail from the parking area. It looked like the perfect swimming hole for warmer, summer months! We stayed in Redding, California as our basecamp and we were able to see all of these in a day! For a great halfway point stop for lunch - check out @yaksonthe5 ! They have the best burgers to fuel your waterfall crawl 🙃 #waterfalls #waterfallhike #californiahiking #hikingtrails #besthikes #travelinspiration #californiatravel #northerncalifornia #summerhikes

NINE waterfalls to see near Redding, California 👇👇 Last week, @visitredding had us set out to find all the best waterfall hikes in the area. Turns out, you don’t have to go far to see SO many incredible waterfalls. Next time you are in the area, here are 9 waterfalls to check out: ☀️Potem Falls This waterfall is right off of the parking area (.6 miles round trip) making it a quick stop on a waterfall crawl! ☀️Burney Falls The trail to get to the bottom is currently CLOSED but you can still see the falls from the upper viewpoint. ☀️ Mcloud Falls (upper, middle, and lower) We recommend hiking the trail that connects the 3 waterfalls which is 4 miles.
