The Minnesota River is a major tributary to the Mississippi River. It's fairly shallow, about 50 yards across, slightly Meandering. There are a lot of trails along the river in what is known as the river bottoms : a place that floods frequently during the Spring. These River bottoms are very free of brush which makes bushwhacking through the trees an easy and pleasant experience.
