Cashier refused to let my 8 year old have a bowl of ice cream stating that they were almost out of bowls and spoons. We saw bowls spoons on the counter behind the ice cream. Refusing to make my husband a milk shake. Said it would take him 20 min to wash the metal cup... my son who is 8 years old told the guy that he doesn’t want an ice cream cone because they are messy. The cashier replied this is when I would make fun of you if I was your older brother. He was just plain rude. I get that it’s a small roadside attraction however being nice to customers goes a long way. I literally have never left a bad review before but I’m so mad about how this young man treated my husband and son I had to say something.

The drive was fun and the sculptures are...

Nice gift shop with lots of “Enchanted Highway” merchandise plus other North Dakota items. Items include t-shirts, caps, magnets, collectables, koozies, playing cards, etc (think the gift shop at any state park visitor center). They also have a good selection of soft drinks and ice cream.

To me, the best part of visiting this gift shop was the chance to visit with Gary, the artist who created all the sculptures/artwork on the Enchanted Highway. What a story he has to tell about his work since 1989. Its artwork like this that makes the “Great American Road Trip” something special.

Please stop in and let him know you appreciated the artwork. Even better, drop him a donation that goes toward his...

Worth the stop....Charming shop owned and operated by the artist of the cool gigantic scrap metal sculptures along the Enchanted Highway. Offers souvenirs and tasty ice cream, and Gary seems to enjoy answering questions about his art. You may use the restroom if you're a paying customer. Had no trouble getting a bowl of ice cream. Gary is a quirky guy and gives a vibe that he pulls no punches, waiting for our kid to say "please" when asking for ice cream, which luckily...

We took a chance and detoured down 72, and I'm glad we did. The whimsical imagination of the artist is incredible. I was disappointed when we got to Regent. We saw the dragon being worked on (pulling wires) but could not find anyone in the hotel. Could not find any place to eat in town and I guess we missed the gift shop. (The place we walked into was unlocked, but obviously not being used as a shop.) We ended driving back up to 94 and down to the next town to eat.

The service was excellent, and the ice cream was amazing. Talked with the couple working for a little while, and both were great, easy to talk to, and a great sense of humor and friendly. The store had fun odds and ends collectibles. I would definitely recommend stopping and supporting a small town local business!
