My first time there I was super excited to find an rc store in Reno it has an indoor track and rick crawler course. Unfortunately the employees didnât know there product. I purchased an rc car from them. I had to ask two different employees several times to help me with my purchase because they wouldnât help. Thatâs when I should have left but I didnât then they told me the car I looking at was brushless and I could get all the upgraded parts I could ever need. I got home and opened the box the car was not brushless at all. I decided to keep it anyways within 20 min the spur gear stripped out. I tried to call them several times to purchase a replacement and could t get ahold of them. Finally I found a store online that sold these cars and parts and found out I could only get replacement parts that no upgraded parts were available for this brand of car. Next I tried reaching out on social media with no success finally I messaged them on face book two weeks later. Granted I was pretty irritated and didnât have the best attitude but neither did they. The end result was they didnât seem to care that the car I thought I was buying g was completely different than the car I got now did they care that I wasnât able to get the upgrades I asked about before purchasing the car. It wasnât until I told them Reno is a small town and news travels fast that they seemed sympathetic and at that point they had already lost my business. Iâm new to the hobby and this was my first hobby grade rc car purchase and it almost made me give up the hobby entirely. From here on out I will be purchasing all my cars and parts online. Iâve received better customer support through email from a store 800miles away than I did from whip it rc. Itâs to bad they could have had a customer for life. I have since then purchased several cars and parts from that online store that actually treats its customers and new hobbiest with respect and...
Read moreTLDR: If you're at all interested in RC Cars/trucks, Drones, Slot cars, make your way out to Whip It Raceway. Whip It RC is such an amazing place, I bought a RC Car about a year and a half ago from a different place, got bored of it and stopped driving. Well I got tired of letting dust collect on my car so I looked for Raceways near me and Whip It came up. Since I went in for the first time, I've been there every week without fail. The owners/employees are extremely nice, polite, knowledgeable, and fair. They always have the parts I need, and if not they order them for me, and they're their by the next time I come in. And when I say knowledgeable, there hasn't been a question I've asked that they haven't had the answer too (and I ask a lot of questions) and that wealth of knowledge is invaluable. They truly care about everyone who comes in, and I've yet to go in there without seeing a smile on all of their faces (They truly care about this business/hobby). The track is awesome, and great to drive on. When racing it feels like I'm racing with a professional organization, its great! And the other hobbyists who hangout there are all extremely helpful and nice. I've yet to go in and not have a fantastic time whether just focusing on racing, tuning my vehicle, getting solicited and unsolicited assistance/advice from those around me, or just socializing, this is an amazing place to be. They're also just beginning to expand to other hobby's beyond just RC Cars, (which is awesome!!!) they host drone racing, and slot car racing. It is just a fantastic and...
Read moreI brought in a rc to be repaired and upgraded. I do not know much terminology yet and possibilities but Iâm getting better. I explained what was going on and what types of upgraded I was looking for. I explained my concerns about the up grades and was told that none of it was a problem it would get looked at and we could order parts. To be more specific I want a two servo set up with metal gears and metal rear end gears for the drive shaft. I had made some attempts to contact the store about the progress and was told by one of the owners that he would have to get with his son to find out what was going on with the car. Later much later I was told that we were waiting for parts. After the parts came I was told that they would recommend a one servo set up and that now my car steers backwards but I could buy a new remote to fix that. So the parts I waited for we did not need anyways. They have had my car for a month now. My rear end is done and the servo is from some other company not the one I requested. In my opinion this shop is a mess and has not been very attentive or courteous to my request or concerns. The communication and fallow through is below par at best. I just want my rig back so I can take it to a pro that knows what the hell they are doing. I still donât have my rig and am curious how much this fiasco is going to cost me? I had been quoted a price but since the work that I asked for has not been done and now my car steers opposite I hope they can make some effort to make this...
