Backwoods Golf — Local services in Republic

Might as well just go golfing at an actual course with prices they charge and service they offer. Actually might be cheaper. Me and a couple buddies went to go and had a great time golfing. Service and price on drinks and food was absolutely insane.

Domestic Beer buckets are $16 on the menu but $26 a piece when the check came by. And that was during their “happy hour”. First beer bucket came by 5 minutes after ordered but the second one took 30 minutes to come out! Why does it take 30 minutes to unscrew the caps off 5 coors light bottles?!?! And then get charged double what the menu price was?! Are you kidding me? 10 coors lights set me and my buddies back $50+ before asking for a tip. This place makes Big Shots look like a steal of a deal. Either there was a mistake or some sort of error but $26 for a beer bucket with 5 beers is wild.

The icing on the cake was going to leave. As we get in our cars we see our server, who took 30 minutes to get us 5 coors lights, talking to some guy in a car outside the building. Instead of our waitress grabbing us our $6 a piece beers she was out the whole time talking to someone.

We got the VIP section to give a friend a great time for his birthday and there was bird poop everywhere, the tables, chairs, and even the napkins. Its 88 degrees and the fans pointed at the ground and the worker wasn't able to point it where it would be helpful and tighten the bolt. The waitresses need more training as we were constantly out of water and had to go to the front three times to get refills, 2 of those times she was on her phone and the 3rd she was talking to the other waitress sitting at a table. There's also no nearby trashcan so the fans that were pointed directly down at our table and food were also blowing our straw wrappers and napkins everywhere because we had nowhere to put them. And the trackers weren't working so that was also a letdown.

All in all it was a pretty crappy experience. When we brought it up at the end when we paid for our food they didn't offer to to make it better in anyway, nor did they get their manager which is probably because they knew they would get in trouble.

We just expected something different, especially when paying extra for a VIP section. At least make sure the section is clean before the VIP appointment. And change the bird poop...

The staff was very friendly and the food was great. The experience was unfortunately ruined by the manager there at the time. My group paid for everything we needed to before being thrown individual waiver forms and $5 fees while we were leaving. The manager reached out to us after we left and told us he would call the police since some did not pay the $5 fee. A member of our group offered to cover the charge for everyone and the manager charged him an extra $82 “because he could.” He is now blackmailing all of us for writing bad reviews saying that he will call the authorities and press charges. Our group was very respectful to the waitress and ladies at the front desk the entire time. We have now paid over the required amount for everything yet are still being called “thieves” by the manager and are blacklisted from ever returning. Trying to get your customers in trouble with the law and blacklisting them from returning does not seem like a great business model to me. I would not be surprised to see this...
