Management often leaves much to be desired, and it is ran by right-wing Evangelicals, who allow church groups to rent spaces, in order to fish for new members. There's no way that they'd allow me to rent space to sell home made items used in my religious practices, such as incenses, herbs, infused oils, home made candles, bath products, sachets, spell kits, tea blends, offer tarot, runestone, palm, tea leaf, bone readings, or to "educate or recruit" people to Eclectic Paganism, by asking if I can have 5-minutes of their time, to talk to them about our Lord and Savior, Dionysus, while offering them a glass of mead from Blake's down the road.
However, most of the vendors are kind, humble, everyday folks, just trying to get by, and pay the bills. There's something for everyone, here, from MLM (pyramid scheme) sellers, like Paparazzi, Mary Kay, Avon, Partylite, arts and crafts, crochet or knitted goods, quilts, home made jewelry, antiques, collectibles, clothing, home made soaps, lotions, tasty baked goods, used tools, sporting goods, hunting and fishing gear, toys, bikes, furniture, art glass, prints, plants, seedlings, "day old bakery" items, and other typical garage sale items. Please leave animals and small children at home. Be sure to bring some bags from home, and small bills in cash. Most vendors are cash only, and can't always break bills. Get there early, to get...
Read moreWas a nice morning walking around the market. Had a little bit of everything. Lots of fresh fruits and veggies, lots of fresh baked goods. Concession building had good prices. Only 1 bad experience. In the area farthest from the concession stand a vendor went off on us. We tried to Dickerson with him and he yelled at my husband " No that Ain't gonna happen here man" so my husband tossed the metal screens back in the tub and we walked away. No big deal. We went over to his partner made a a purchase then all of a sudden that other guy came screaming get out of my booth your not buying anything here. Your not going to disrespect me like that. You can't throw my stuff just because I won't deal with you. I tried explaining nobody threw anything but he was in my face yelling and a crowd was forming. It was crazy. But we walked away and were still a little stunned. I guess although a lot of the vendors offered to bargain with you he just didn't happen to be one. Mostly a pleasant day with lots of nice folks just wanting to make a deal with you and sell...
