Big RVA Market has quickly become an integral part of our weekend routine. The recent move to a location closer to our residence has been such a blessing, and we couldn't be more thrilled. Every Saturday, the market buzzes with life, offering a delightful array of vendors, each bringing unique and quality products to the community.
Among our favorites are Black Creek Farm and Dockery Branch Farms. Their offerings never fail to impress, and their commitment to quality and sustainable practices shines through in their produce. The passion and dedication of these vendors, along with many others at the market, make our weekly visits an adventure of flavors, sights, and sounds.
But it's not just us humans who eagerly anticipate our weekly visits. Our furry companion is equally excited! The market has become his favorite spot to receive affectionate pets and mingle with other canine buddies. The welcoming and pet-friendly atmosphere truly makes it a joy for every member of our family.
For anyone looking to support local businesses and immerse themselves in the vibrant tapestry of our community, Big RVA Market is the place to be. It's more than just a market; it's a weekly celebration of all things local. Can't...
Read moreThis is normally SUCH a good market people like myself will drive over an hour to come here for the vibe and to support and shop local. I got up early on my Saturday to be at the park at 8am when they are supposed to be open only to be told they weren’t open for another hour and had announced it on FB? I don’t have social media anymore and apparently that’s the only place they announced “winter hours” starting at 9. I didn’t want to spend more gas and time driving all the way back home, especially because I missed last weekend. I decided to stay and just wait, but I personally witnessed over 100 people get turned away, most of which just left to go to some smaller market down the road which maybe also should have went to but I like my regular vendors here so I continued to wait and watch. Yes it’s annoying for the people like myself that are here to shop local but more that than, it’s just terrible business for these poor vendors that are paying fees to be out here and relying on this income to survive end up missing out. It would be one thing if they were setting up and not ready but man it’s sad to see these people miss out. I still love this market and vendors I support every week but wow this was hard to watch...
Read moreLove that RVA has this market especially because we love farm fresh eggs! It’s a great selection of vendors and we’ve gone the past two Saturdays. You do have to go through a long trail in Bryan park to get to the gravel parking but once you get there, it’s a pretty short walk to the actual market. We love the fresh produce especially the farm fresh eggs. We’ve tried coffee from Column 15, got farm fresh eggs and strawberries from multiple farm vendors, and bfast sandwiches. There’s a ton of cute dogs and you can spend a Saturday morning there with lots to explore and bellies full after exploring many food options. Some vendors do prefer cash/charge a little extra for CC fees. Would be a great place to show an out of towner too. Get the farm...
