This is such a cool spot in Ridgefield to take your family as summer turns to fall! We spent a lovely Saturday morning at Old World Apples watching the animals (goats, pony, horse, turkeys, ducks, chickens, roosters, alpacas, bunnies, etc.), picking apples (they have 50 different varieties), and playing on the play structure. I would suggest packing a picnic to enjoy there after picking your apples, since we did work up an appetite walking around and having fun. Luana, the owner, is so nice and was handing out samples of their delicious cider to everyone. She also had caramel apples, cold drinks and honey from her bees for sale. The apple trees were packed with apples. They have some handled baskets for you to borrow to pick. Some apple varieties have more imperfections than others (little holes, scratches, etc.) but that is expected given that this is an organic farm. This does not affect how delicious they tasted! There are white buckets between the rows of trees for you to place any apples you pick and then decide you don’t want. This helps keep them off the ground so they can be used for cider! Some of the coolest apples were the purpleish ones that were red on the inside and the Pink Pearls, which were yellow on the outside and had light pink swirls on the inside. We paid around $40 for about 7 pounds of apples and a caramel apple, which was a great deal considering we were there for hours and they don’t charge an entry fee. We will definitely be going back before the season is over!

This is the best place on earth to buy apples. With so many varieties, you can’t go wrong. Customer service is excellent.

A little adventure close by! We've never been to a u-pick apple orchard, so we weren't quite sure what to expect. This was a super-chill location with very friendly folks running the place. We rambled around picking apples and enjoying the exploration (there was some animal gawking too "look at how big that pig is!" "ooo, chickens"). No kids so no trampoline testing. We got more apples from the pre-picked bins in the barn - well labeled and described there. But we also picked some (using the baskets provided). I think it'd be great if they had more of a map of the rest of the orchard and the many varieties they have there, but I think they're still working on that. We realized when checking out at the end that they did have some apples cut up for sampling but they were hidden behind the bins, so a missed opportunity to try a few more there. We bought cider - it was delicious - and I think our favorite apple was the Pink Pearl - it really is pink on the inside, even after baking into a crisp. They even had a HUGE apple (but just the last of them) so we just gawked. We'll come back next year, fingers crossed they have a wee bit more labeling.

This was a beautiful place, filled with more apples than one can count. Our group pulled in 3 cars filled with parents and children, 13 of us total. The nice woman running the stand came out and explained how it works. She even gave us some tips for the kiddos picking apples. We were free to walk around the apple orchard property. The view was amazing!!! The property is filled with many types of apples, a few walnut trees, a few blackberry tree/bushes, a huge patch of sunflowers, and another huge patch of squashes. On top of that, there are a bunch of farm animals. They have chickens and roosters, goats, pigs (one is about to give birth), and a pony!! When we were done picking apples, we took our baskets (which they provide) to the stand, and the ladies sort through the apples, making sure you get the best of what you pick. They have homemade pure apple cider, which is delicious (and I usually don't like apple cider). These women are so sweet, so friendly, and so knowledgeable. Most of the animals on the property are rescues! ❤️❤️‍🩹 This is a great Small Woman Owned business to support. Plus, the apples are way way better than anything you will get at a store!!! If you're looking for a place to go Apple Picking, Old World Apples is the place to go!!! Great...
