My husband and I decided to try Belle River Golf Course after purchasing certificates on a golfing website. We checked in, the young man at the desk was very pleasant and friendly. We got our cart, which was nice and new, and headed to the first hole. We also noticed that carts were stacked about 6 deep waiting to tee off at the 10th, and felt kind of bad for those golfers. We hit off the first tee with no issue. Got to the second tee, and caught up with the foursome ahead of us. This is how the remaining 8 holes went...waiting for the foursome. We would finish the previous hole, and get to the next hole to watch the ladies teeing off. We had a single guy behind us, who eventually joined us for a few holes then took the opportunity to cut a hole ahead of the foursome. There was also a pair behind us as well. Generally polite golfers offer faster players to play through. Nope, not here. It took us nearly 3 hours to play 9 holes. We were looking forward to a nice, relaxing round of golf, and it was anything but. Apparently we aren't the only ones who have had this issue either. A course ranger would do wonders for speeding up play here. They say a round of 18 holes should take around 4 hours. I don't think so. We were so frustrated that we chose not to play the back 9 that we paid for and left. Golf should be fun, and today was...
Read moreI was considering getting my husband and my brother a year pass, but honestly after the last four times we’ve gone there It is not worth it. The course is pretty enjoyable, they take great care of the grass all the way around. the carts you can purchase snacks and drinks from are well maintained, the new golf carts are awesome. The price is a great deal. The negative part is they are stacking their games like crazy. Every hole we were waiting for at least 2 groups. The first 9 took us 3 1/2 hours. For a single golfer. We said something the second time it happened.. it’s now twice more since July 4th. It’s becoming unpleasant They are overbooking themselves to the point it’s down right not enjoyable for their customers. We will spend the extra money to have a relaxing day on the course somewhere else, then to be stuck on a golf cart stand still at every single hole in the hot sun, baking, Waiting for our turn… just to do it all again next hole...
Read moreWent here and played 18 holes for 43 dollars thinking this would be a nice course for that price. This is probably the worst course I’ve played on if you even hit the ball off the fairway just a little you will have trouble finding your ball. Wasn’t mowed really at all even the fairways were long. I spend most of my time looking for my ball as well as the group I was playing with. The greens were decent and the rough around the greens were ok as well but fairways like I said dandelions everywhere. On the upside the employees were really nice and seemed like great people about the only upside in my opinion. For that price this is a complete rip off. I’m from lansing and for courses there for 20 dollars you play on a better course than this. For course that are around 40 to 50 they are practically Pristine courses. I can see maybe paying 20 to 25 in...
