Very beautiful views and flowers. What a loving and emotional tribute and Memorial to a very well-loved son and a very interesting history. These pictures are only a very small part of the park. I was unable to explore the whole grounds. But there are gorgeous flowers and beautiful scenery. Please go to check it out. We went for the 75th anniversary and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Moving Wall was there at the time... very emotional.

This is a lovely place. I truly enjoy being surrounded by the trees and the carefully planted flowers. It also serves as a museum for veterans and provides a space to reflect on the sacrifices of those who served. The area has also been used for various celebratory occasions. It’s peaceful here. Free Parking here and plenty of spaces.

An amazing outdoor church, surrounded by beautiful gardens and with a spectacular view as the backdrop. Along the garden paths are a number of quiet nooks, too stop and reflect or give prayer. Whatever your faith, it's worth stopping to see and share in the wonder of this place.

We visited on a drizzly morning and decided to brace the hike down to the lake and back. The trail begins on the other side of the parking lot, across from the main cathedral tower.

The hike was well under the the tree canopy which made the walk very comfortable even with the ongoing drizzle. A quick note for those going for the lake view, there is a small opening that provides a quick peak over the water. Due to the weather, we might have missed another lookout point, but I wouldn't want anyone disappointed.

On the loop back we came across the "dinosaur egg" rock which was a nice spot for pictures. Further on the trail was a footbridge over a wide stream. This was our favorite area, it really was quite magical. At this point we weren't able to proceed further due to the trail becoming its own little creek, but luckily we were at a crossroads where we could still continue the loop back to the top of the hill.

If have some extra time after exploring and visiting the cathedral grounds and gardens, the neighboring trails are well worth...

I only give 5 stars to places I really love. Although this place doesn't have waterfalls or anything too grand it is beautiful and peaceful. There are a couple walking paths that are perfect length if you have small kids or someone who can only handle short walks. Along the paths are wild flower gardens and memorial markers. There are trash buckets, this place is always well manicured and cleaned. There is a bell tower and gift shop. I know some people who got married here, not sure if that is still an option but if it is you wouldn't be...
