I was near the river but not actually there..but I must say, Brandenburg boat ramp, of course will put you in Ohio River., is one of the best all around. Beautiful scenery and history. Its so much more than a boat ramp into the Ohio River. You can walk around this place and it is the boat ramp park from long ago. It is maintained like no other place..Tje Ohio water level is eratic to say the least. Lots of mud and debris will constantly litter up any "River Park Boat Ramp". Brandenburg's is kept up faithfully. History lessons are in every walk around park. There is a century old jailhouse that is now an awesome pizza placs called Jailhouse Pizza. There is a statue that politics and people(understanable) of Louisville said had to go, but not Brandenburg, which welcomed the onfederate statue that Louisville( huge compared to Brandenburg) said must go.There are top of the line playground sets, out door cooking grills, restrooms, several covered areas for meetings or celebrations. The cleanest and most historical play ground/boat ramp. Awesome xmas...

Very sad that Oyo (the Great River) has become polluted to the point of disrepair.

Fresh water is the lifeblood of a nation. The Ohio river is extremely beautiful, but stands as a monument to the failures of capitalism.

Polluted with toxic metals, pfoa and other such "forever" chemicals, we are left with fresh water that we cannot fish in, barely swim in and cannot feed your plants with. Only mankind can destroy a beautiful gift from God in such a careless and profit driven manner.

Without this destruction, the body of water would absolutely get 5 stars. The problem is not the water, it's mankind. Until the Ohio river is safe to drink, use on plants and fish (and eat) from, I never want to hear the phrase "ethical...

Well of course the Ohio River is a rather large river to go boating water skiing and fishing in but the landscape isn't exactly the best I mean it's no New River gorge or the Rocky mountains LOL. But they do have big catfish and lots of different type of fish and different water sports jet skiing boating fishing, and a few other things to get into. But really the water isn't as pretty as you would wish it would be, it's kind of a greenish color, it's not blue or real pretty like the ocean or summersville lake or any of the freshwater or sea water places you may have been to before. But it's still a nice place to at least check out and soak in some summer sun, and hopefully fun.

PS.Let the Lord...

The Ohio River is a gift to Louisville and the reason for the community's founding and its importance to 18th and 19th century America. Thanks to former Mayor Abramson and Humana co-founder David Jones, and a select few others, residents and visitors to Louisville can enjoy walkways, parks and bike paths along the river and enjoy the sounds and scenes of the river. Even crossing the river over one of five bridges is nice for passengers to look out over the river to see the downtown Louisville buildings, Indiana riverfront, Belle of Louisville or recessional or commercial watercraft. A sunset along the river is perfectly beautiful!
