So yesterday afternoon my dad went in and bought a camshaft bearing tool it was sealed and supposedly âNEWâ when he got home he tried to use it and after watching various youtube tutorials and going through the instructions he thought it just didnât fit his engine so we went back today to return it when we got there they checked and asked if it was used we told them he did TRY to use it but it didnât work with his engine they opened it up and started checking it when they saw it was dirty and the tool had marks at the end of it which meant it was used, we honestly didnât notice the marks it had on it because we never pulled that part out...anyway they went on accusing us of using the tool and then trying to return it and thats when we got really mad, if we would've been able to use the tool would we really have taken the time of going all the way to Derby when we live in Sedgwick to return it. A few racist comments later and After trying to make them understand that WE DID NOT USE THE TOOL and COULD NOT USE IT (THATâS WHY WE WERE RETURNING IT) we went back home grabbed the bearings and other thing to show them how he wasnât able to use it and asking them to show us how to use it. When we got there the lady at the cash register was really rude commenting âhere they are againâ we got in line properly itâs not like we went in there and made a big deal but when it got to us she did not let my sister speak and interrupted her she then proceeding into saying âwe already went through this the manager is already gone for the day and the owner will be here now get out of the way so I can check out the next personâ (I've worked in both retail and restaurants and you should be patient now matter what her rudeness was just so uncalled for and just plain unprofessional. Then this man came in (not sure who it was but he was really polite and professional) he said he couldnât show us how to use it because he didnât know and looked for help he was then the one to help us anyway he showed us how to use it and they really helped my dad out in that way because he realized he was not using it correctly but the thing now is...HOW THE HELL WAS IT USED IF MY DAD DIDNâT USE IT AND IT WAS SEALED WHEN BOUGHT THEY SHOULD CONTACT THERE PROVIDER AND QUESTION WHERE EVER THEY GOT IT FROM...IF I EVER GO BACK I WILL OPEN SEALED TOOLS IN FRONT OF THEM JUST TO MAKE SURE THEYâRE NOT USED AND I WOULD RECOMMEND EVERYONE ELSE TO DO IT TOO. Weâre just really upset of being falsely accused, getting treated so unprofessionally by most of them, and even getting a few racist comments from one of the men who I am pretty sure...
Read morePicture it. A couple of crazy Texans making their way back home after spending the week in Sturgis. They are pulling their toy hauler that is carrying their Harleys, tired and ready to be home. Cruising along Interstate 135, they hit a really big bump and suddenly there is smoke filling the air. The leaf springs on the driver side had broken and they were stuck. It was midday on a Friday. They called everywhere looking for help and virtually everyone they spoke with, including Camping World who sold them an extended warranty, basically told them... wow, sucks to be you! Four hours later a couple of tow truck driving heroes showed up to help. They let the Texans in on a little secret called the Big Tool Store. With their help, they hobbled over to the Big Tool Store and were greeted by friendly, compassionate people who were willing to help! Since they had arrived right at closing time, they allowed them to park their toy hauler in their secure parking lot overnight. The next morning, they greeted the Texans with smiles and offers of help. They closed at 12pm so there wasn't much time to make things happen. Thanks to their great inventory, knowledge and willingness to help, the Texans were able to get everything they needed to get their toy hauler back on the road just in the nick of time! They even made sure that they knew someone was willing to stay late if they couldnât get it done in time. But Texans are resourceful and determined, so they got it done! If it werenât for the Big Tool Store, this story would have had a really sad ending, and the Texans would still be 9 hours from home and missing work. Instead, they left Kansas with new friends and a reminder that there are still a lot of good, no, great people in the world who are willing to help out when someone needs a helping hand. Although they donât pass through Derby, Kansas, very often, you can bet your bottom dollar that they will be stopping in to say hello and make sure they have the latest Milwaukee tools in their shop anytime they find themselves in the area.
Donât wait for a tragic tale to meet the team at Big Tool Store. Get it in there ASAP to support an amazing team of people who are helping to make the world a better place one smile, one generous gesture, one quality tool at a time. They did all of that for complete strangers and they have loyal customers and family in Texas now!
(Not to mention, they are still helping us navigate Milwaukee warranty claims the following week! Amazing...
Read moreLove this store! Its good the greatest selection of both the highest quality as well as the middle of the road. Knowledgeable staff in each department. Its a little bit on the pricey side of the line, but again what quality tool and/or machine is not. Now....the grippy bit. I really wish they were open an hour later during the week for all of the guys that have jobs. You know, the ones earning the money during the 8 to 5 hours they are open. And Saturday, well that's just a tease for them same dudes who wake up, get their household chores knocked out, and then drive the 30 minutes from the west side down to derby. Only to arrive with 25 minutes before have to rush out and drive back home with all the church folk that hit the streets at noon. And last but not least, because this one has me weighing in my headspace the idea of never to return. And its that no matter how many thousands you drop in there over the years, if you go in there dressed in your chore attire and get say...a router bit for an example. The employee will either very suggestively try to take it from you under the guise of providing a service of assistance and give it to the cashier. Or the more insulting option. The one where he casually follows you about the store with arms crossed behind the back. With no attempt at being relaxed or coy about it is anyway, bird dogs the hell out of a fellow up to the point of transaction for said bit. Its incredibly rude, for one, to assume an individual's character by way of their lawn shoes. I could go on, but even so, 5 star joint as there is no equal to the place that I...
