I ordered a Rocky Mountain Growler 40 on closeout. I was notified a few days later that the bike had some cosmetic issues on the handlebars and frame. It was a little disappointing but I ended up moving forward with the purchase as they offered a $100 gift card in exchange.
When the bike arrived, it came damaged with multiple paint chips on the frame. I was very upset that the frame came with no protection. For this, they offered me an additional $200 gift card for the hassle. I ended up accepting the offer since it would cost me money to return the bike.
With the $300 gift card value, I ended up using it to purchase a Fox 34 Performance Elite 140mm fork to upgrade the bike I just purchased. Darin helped me stretch the gift card and I was able to get a few more items with my purchase.
I was disappointed with how terribly packaged they shipped the bike. I had a new bike that came with paint chips and scratches. I was able to cover those up with car paint and you wouldn't know it's there unless you look hard enough.
But for the hassle of having a pre-scratched and dinged new bike, I was also able to get a bike with better fork than other bikes in the price point I spent overall. Overall, I am satisfied with the service. Especially with Darin helping alleviate the mess ups.
Would I buy from Jenson again? Yes. Would I buy a new bike from Jenson again? No.
Edit: I ended up buying another bike from Jenson 7 months later. Still keeping the 4-stars. The bike came clean and properly packed. The issue I had with the new bike was the wheels came out of true straight out of the box. They claim to do a pre-shipping check. The person who put my bike together definitely didnât check the trueness. Good thing I know how to true wheels and I was able to do it myself. But for a newbie, be mindful of small things like this. I canât really complain because the price...
Read moreI recently purchased a couple of new bikes online from Jenson USA; one of them being a Bold Linkin LT for my wife, the other a Scott Spark Tuned for me. Both bikes arrived quickly and basically ready to ride out of the box, just like they say (install front wheel, adjust shock/fork pressure - done). I noticed that the GX ASX rear derailleur on the Bold didn't seem to like 2nd gear when riding. It was rubbing on the 1st gear and would sometimes feel like it wanted to shift out of 2nd. I could micro-adjust to make it work there, but then it wouldn't shift properly on the other end of the cassette (chain length, hanger, and B adjustment all checked out good). If I was local, this would just require a quick visit to the store. Unfortunately I was several states over, so this was going to be a good test to see how an out-of-state warranty would be handled. My initial contact at Jenson was with Scott M. He was very receptive to the issue and extremely helpful. After some discussing and sending him a video displaying the problem, he agreed that there was a hardware issue and referred me to the warranty claims department. I filled out a short form and received an email from Faith M not too long after. She took care of dealing with SRAM, and in short order a new derailleur was in the mail. A very painless ordeal. It's easy to praise a company when everything is fine. The true test is what they do when there is an issue. Jenson obviously has a great group of people working there, that truly care about their fellow bike riders. Mark, Faith (and SRAM) had my back and got the bike back on the road quickly. I'm a very satisfied customer and look forward to purchasing from...
Read moreI really wish you jenson would start putting model years on the bikes you sell. I get it you think the bike industry doesnât work like that, guess what it does. Your answer to this question in chat was bogus. You only list outdated years thats pure bologna you barely list any. I stand by my statement put the model year on the listing. Every MY of oem bikes is different dependent on different groupo whether it was fox performance or now Marzochi/ one year may be nx the next sx. Just because the frame model hasnât been updated it doesnât give you the right to sell people parts as old as 2022 without specifying. Booooo put the actual model years on the listing. Stop trying to hide the components on your bikes who pays thousands for a bike and just hits the buy button, get real. The flow on your website is bogus. You should go visit transitions website if you think wrong. Also when you sell e-bikes people want to know what gen of Bosch it is. Why would you not specify I would happily buy a range extender with a bike if I knew it was a gen 4 Bosch 750âŚ. But you donât you wait until people buy a bike labeled as a 24 that comes with gen 2 or 3 Bosch from 2022 installed. Then you let your uneducated customer deal with it. People spend thousands on bikes at your store. Educate them give the information donât make them search pb vital and oem websites when you easily have access to all this info. so in closing you can keep preying on some all these saps with no self control to just hit buy....
