On June 3rd 2024 in the Sun City center Winn-Dixie my mentally handicapped son was walking to a register that was being mopped by a cashier who did not place a wet floor sign out my son did not notice that the floor was wet slipped and fell and slid extremely injuring his knee an incident report was done with two managers manager Daniel stated to me that I was not allowed a copy of the incident report and then instructed cashiers not to speak with me I do have Daniel on recording stating to the other manager that the young lady placed the wet floor sign after the gentleman fell I also have video of him explaining that they're not allowed to give me an incident report copy he was able to give me a written statement stating that he's not allowed to give a copy of the incident report my son who is intellectually disabled is in a whole lot of pain and they don't want to be held accountable I was not looking to take legal action in any way shape form or fashion I just asked for a copy of the incident report because the child is a ward of the state as he is my foster child in the incident has to be reported to his State appointed caseworker at the safe children's coalition I just really think that they are very unprofessional it's very unethical that a child get hurt in their store and they don't want to help and rectifying the situation when all that was requested was a copy of a piece of paper now because they refuse to copy of a piece of paper there's going to be a whole out legal battle because the child is a ward of the state but we all know how this is going to turn out because this child is a ward of the state God will and it's going to prevail there was literally no compassion or understanding they didn't even apologize for their mistake in the store manager there boy was he a piece of work rude about the situation stating that he is not at Liberty to provide me with a copy of an incident report they however did it instruct me that I could buy a knee brace from out of their store how unempathetic they were towards my mentally handicapped son was just unbelievable but even without the incident report I have enough video proving that my child fell in that store just the lack of compassion and understanding was just unimaginable I will be taking this to social...
Read moreChris C. Sun City Center Fl 813-331`-9597. in since google is hiding my profile for some reason. Winn Dixie had Heineken on sale with their card,Publix or Walmart give specials without cards, and as I lifted the beer out of my trunk , which had been loaded by their employee, the handle ripped breaking half of them.My fault for shopping there.I go to Publix and Walmarts every 2 weeks and I have a photographic memory and the prices at Winn Dixie on 90% of their items are higher than in Publix and 100% higher than in Walmarts.Of course the elderly citizens of Sun City Center can't drive their Golf carts to Wal Mart ,and Publix is a slog for most of them in this 90+ degree heat.I went for my Mother and have decided to begin a price comparison on Facebook for EVERYONE to compare.Publix is simply neater and has people to help you find things,as well as baggers and I never had a 12 pack break from their store because the person loading the car would say something and replace it.Walmart is a bit more hectic and I only by certain items there. For example Hagen Daz Coffee ice cream is 3.86 in Walmart and 5.29 in Winn Dixie. That is 1.43 on one item.Another quick example was their cereal which was 5.19 in Winn Dixie and is,3.87 in Walmart. Two items you save 5 dollars. If you shop for pets and 3 people as I do,you can save 100 Dollars in Walmart over WAinn Dixie which I actually did winning a bet last WEEK.So now I will begin to post the differences on Facebook and several other websites, because, frankly,I was an investigator and I enjoy exposing people like this.Publix bakery and rolls are so much better it isn't runny and their stores "specialty items Walmart does not carry are still cheaper than Winn Dixie, wnhich, frankly is as clean as Walmart but Publix is better than either in cleanliness.Publix has best bakery, meats and specialty items, while Walmart requires an 8 a.m. trip to avoid the masses, but I get up at 3 a.m. to walk my dogs and do my investigative work on my computer every day anyway. This will be run and hopefully saves some seniors...
Read moreI recently had an extremely disheartening experience at Winn Dixie that left me feeling targeted and racially profiled. As a customer, I expected to be treated with respect and fairness, regardless of my ethnicity. Unfortunately, that was not the case during my visit.
From the moment I entered the store, I noticed subtle but unmistakable signs of prejudiced behavior. I was followed closely by a store employee as I went about my shopping, creating an atmosphere of suspicion and discomfort. Despite being a law-abiding citizen, I was made to feel like a potential threat solely based on the color of my skin.
The most distressing part of this ordeal was when I attempted to make a purchase. I was asked for identification and subjected to additional scrutiny, while other customers were not subjected to the same level of scrutiny. It was evident that this was not a matter of store policy, but rather a discriminatory act targeted specifically at me.
The experience left a lasting impact on me, not only in terms of my perception of Winn Dixie but also in my overall sense of security and belonging within the community. No individual should have to endure such treatment, especially in a place where they should feel safe and welcome.
I sincerely hope that Winn Dixie takes immediate action to address this issue and implements comprehensive training programs to ensure that all customers are treated fairly and without prejudice. Racial profiling has no place in our society, and it is essential that businesses take a proactive stance in eliminating such discriminatory practices.
In conclusion, my encounter with racial profiling at Winn Dixie was deeply troubling and has significantly tarnished my perception of the store. I would caution others to be aware of this issue and consider supporting businesses that prioritize inclusivity and equality over...
