Great place to go for practice. They have 7, 15 and 25 yard pistol and rimfire; Also have 25, 50 and 100 yard rifle ranges. Excellent staff both inside and out. Your safety is always the number one priority. Stop by and see for yourself, You'll be glad you did. UPDATE 11/10/2024 I actually worked there as weekend range master for three years, I was fired for raising my voice to a customer because he uncased his rifle behind other people after being clearly instructed to handle the firearms on the firing bench, He pulled out a rifle behind the line and pointed it at his wife and grandson and waived it around behind other people as well. This guy has done this the last five or six times he's visited the range totally ignoring safety rules and instructions so I knew the moment I saw him he had to be watched closely. A new staff member escorted him to a spot on the 25 yard rifle range and I warned the new guy to watch him. New guy reminded customer to uncase/ recase on the firing bench and turned around and ignored him. I was monitoring the 100 yard rifle range and saw him immediately open his case behind everyone against the rules and point the firearm directly at his wife and grandson waving it around like a fishing pole back and forth. The new guy was sitting behind him playing with his phone ignoring the situation so I had to approach him and correct the problem. With all the other people shooting I had to obviously raise my voice as I approached as he began to uncase a second rifle behind people again. I wasn't rude but I did say "hey" very loud twice to get him to stop. He complains about me to the owner and said I always yell at him when he comes. That's true because every time he comes he ignores the basic safety rules endangering everyone around him by uncasing the firearms behind people pointing the guns at others. But I'm the bad guy for enforcement of the rules. After three years I was fired for raising my voice and "Being grumpy" Because the other two new guys had zero experience and had to be watched as well. I hope they hire someone else who actually cares. Shout out to Ron on the weekend: Poor guy has to do the work of three people now that I am gone. Take care Ron, you're a great man. Be safe, keep calm...
Read moreRange guys were jerks last time I was there. I was shooting with my 13 year old son, who has been shooting for years. I shot competetively for for four years in college, was an All American team captain on my #2 ranked team, did 20 years shooting in the military, and still carry, shoot, and train in a law enforcement capacity. I've got a LOT of firearm safety training from Olympic gold medalists, the marine corps shooting team in Quantico, the Army team in Ft. Benning, Air Marshals, and on and on. Believe me, I'm all over it, and make sure my son does everything safely. But these guys were FREAKED OUT by having a kid on the range. I finally took my stuff and left. Power trip, big time. I get that with open bays, and having to go down range to retrieve targets you need more safety in place, and pro active range officials, but it was way overboard. Meanwhile, there were adults there who were displaying poor muzzle discipline, and all kinds of safety infractions which weren't even noticed. There was a laser beam focus on my kid, just because he was younger, even though he's safer and better than lots of adults out there. Very frustrating. Not kid friendly. Too bad. I feel strongly that the best way to prevent accidents, promote shooting as a sport, and firearm rights and safety is to teach youth firearm safety early and often. I felt like they'd prefer to not have kids out...
Read moreFirst off, everyone that complained about having to shoot non-FMJ ammo, can go cry me a river. I shoot .308 and maybe paid an extra 3 dollars per box of soft tip brass. In this day in age, 3 dollars is a drop in the bucket, especially for a nice range like this. Everyone I met that worked there was nice and blunt about all aspects of their range. The extra "rules" that so many whine about are just good safety tips. In fact I was yelled at for stepping up to the firing line during cease fire to lay ammo on the table. THIS WAS MY FAULT, not theirs. They had to yell at some kids next to me for rapid fire, shooting on others lanes, pointing the weapons to the side(toward others), and trying to walk around with closed bolts straight off the firing line during live fire. These are all very unsafe practices and I am glad they run such a tight ship. Do I follow these rules when I am shooting on open land, no. But this is not my land, this is a their range. Follow the rules. Ask for directions on everything and you can never get in trouble. 4 stars for price. A little on the high side for an outdoor range, but then again rests and benches at all stations make...
