Overall, we had an okay time, but the issue was the insane cost of attending the annual Fair. The website they love to direct you too is extremely misleading and what I can only assume purposely badly worded. We were caught off-guard at the expense of parking, which wasn't based on a vehicle but on the number of people inside the car. $10 per person, so in our case, it costs $20 to park, which is what it costs to park at Disney World. Now imagine if you have a family of four or more. Then you are talking about $40 or more to park your car, which on Friday and Saturday doesn't cover the cost of rides which can run between $25 to $50 for a book of tickets depending on how many you want which the $50 equals 44 tickets with most rides averaging four tickets per person. Meaning for a family, you might get three to four rides. Overall we spent $126 for two people when factoring in the cost of two drinks, some fries, a funnel cake, and two carnival games. Also, the Fair this year was much smaller than in years past, with fewer food vendors, rides, and just less fun. We probably should have waited and gone to the Pensacola Fair, which would be in town in a few more weeks. Lastly, the big cat shows that the Fair advertised were underwhelming as we ended up feeling sorry for the tiger as it was being held in a relatively small trailer when not performing. Imagine locking your house cat in a cat carrier for days, only coming out twice a day to do...
Read moreLocation is off hi-59 at fairgrounds rd. Easy to get to but signage for the fair could have been better. Plenty of parking( dirt/grass). Lots of rides for kids not many for adults. Disappointed that the animals were gone except for a few... I guess they left early since it was the last day. We weren’t expecting it to be a big fair but we were hoping to also see some local art and there was none. One of our favorite things about the fair is corn dogs, unfortunately my foot long was just two shorts on a stick and poorly dipped and barely fried as the grease wasn’t hot enough... the usual games and so forth. No live music... overall a...
Read moreWe went to an advertised event that was held in fairgrounds field. It was supposed to be a fall fun festival and Halloween gig.. They sold tickets and took admission at the gate. We were pretty disappointed with the offerings, and were in / out in less than 30 minutes. This was their inaugural (1st time) event, I hope they can do better next year. We were expecting vendors, more things to do, and frankly, a lot more attendees.. I'm estimating there were less than 10 families there when we were. They did have music, a band, but for the most of the time we were there, they must have...
