This course is not single player friendly. I always get mixed instructions when trying to play. Sometimes they tell you, "we don't take tee times for singles" then other times when you show up, they will scold you for not having a tee time. Not sure what gives, different starters, different rules. One thing is for sure, they are not consistent.
If you do manage to get on, do not expect to finish a round in less than four and half hours. The Rochester courses have an unlimited golf membership so there is always tons of senior golfers. Some let you play through, a lot don't.
The Rochester parks really need an online reservation system to manage tee times. I find it a chore to get out and play on any of their courses, Eastwood and Soldier Field being hard to impossible.

Read moreThis course has been one of our favorites under great management for a long time. They have recently added the Caddy-shack kitchen with one of the best chefs is Rochester! My wife and I are here again for the second time in a week, and this place does NOT disappoint! The menu is so diverse, there is something for every one and the prices are too low!! The smash burgers are so far below Chef’s top-end offerings, but for burger lovers, they are absolute 🔥🔥🔥! The top end of this menu is beyond most golf club offerings. The best ingredients and the best of chefs is a great combo for this little gem of a diner. Do not sleep on this place! See you...

Only issues with the course are the type of grass which can be hard to hit out of sometimes and the driving range, which you have to drive to after picking up a token at the pro shop. The practice facilities are quite nice though.
Update: visually, this has remained my favorite public course in the Rochester. However, I have started to play at Northern Hills more often due to the better course condition (specifically the greens) and there are a TON of...
