New Milford Appliance — Local services in Rockford Township

I wrote a review on 11/23 for New Milford Refrigeration that I thought was on Google but it ended up on Yelp, so check that one .. Needed a replacement for my new Whirlpool washer purchased from Menards in March 2021. Used about 8-10 times and the control panel went out...still waiting on the new part and tired of laundromat getting my clothes dirtier when they came out than when they went in the washers. Checked out several used , "refurbished" manual controls at NMA. Dave explained how he "fixed" them so I bought another Whirlpool with agitator hoping for something better than the laundromat. He installed it the next day, ran an empty load and it looked like it would run ok. Have done 2 loads since then and so far so good.

I dropped my 4 to a 1, only because there is no zero. Dave installed the washer, ran it thru a complete cycle, it sounded like a freight train, but I could deal with that if it washed my clothes. First load was ok, went the complete cycle, but it didn't spin very well. Clothes were pretty wet and it took 2 40 min dryer cycles to dry completely. Next load was 2 full sheets, 2 pillowcases, 1 ea, bath , hand towel, washcloth. Easy load for a machine that works. It washed fine, got to the rinse/spin/drain cycle and stopped. I was able to manually start it and it completed the cycle, clothes still very damp. Next load was a pair of jeans and few small items. Washed fine, except this time even manual setting didn't work. Called to tell Dave since he gave me a year's warranty with no service charge. Thought he would just come fix it, but he offered me another machine. After i told him I wanted to see if run before I accepted it, he became very belligerent , told me he couldn't make me happy and would give me back my money. Told me he didn't have any more washers, he'd sold them all. I found that odd since the place was wall to wall new/used washers when I was in there Monday. Don't lie to old people..we didn't get this old being stupid. He picked up the washer, issued me a refund, MINUS delivery charge. Now, I'll do what I should have in the first place. I can buy a new name brand from B&W for about $100 less than the $613 I was charged for a piece of junk that should have sold for about $250. Beware of fast talkers ! He thinks very highly of himself and his abilities, but I think he'd be better suited as a snake oil salesman.

** and in addition he took the water hook up hoses when he removed the piece of junk washer that belonged to my original washer...I had to buy new ones when I ordered my new washer @ $20 and change. WOW! No wonder he was in such a hurry to leave. Thinking the Better Business Bureau and the fraud dept. of my credit card will be...

I called looking for a used washer.. Im tired of paying cash for trash for brand new washers. I wanted to go a different route this time. So I called new Milford appliance and refrigeration and talked to Dave. He let me know he had a older Maytag for sale after I explained to him of what I was looking for. He was very knowledgeable and professional I received a lot of information about the Maytag and what he does to refurbish it like installing new parts and how he sanitizes the unit which I really liked. He let me know what liquid softener does to your unit (gunk buildup) and that if I wanted to use my softener to clean the washer every week with vinegar which makes sense. He had me sold before I got off the phone and I went there and purchased the Maytag. He was very accommodating by delivering it the next morning which was a Saturday!. Now really what other local company will do that for you? I really did appreciate it. He took my old washer which I only had for 3 years. It actually took him only 20 minutes to install it. I will say that In the future if I need to purchase an appliance I will definitely be coming back here to do that. One more thing I thought I might be needing the dryer as well because it wasn't drying clothes thoroughly he snuck a peek and found out that I had a lot of lint in my dryer vent He said replace that and I guarantee that your dryer will be better. No other Appliance store compares to the expert knowledge and customer service that we found with New Milford Appliance & Refrigeration! I had spent a couple of weeks shopping around, going to the National chains with questions on different washers and dryers. Every store that we went to the sales reps all had to look online for specs and details. No one seemed to have any knowledge of features and benefits of the different brands/sizes etc... and then we discovered New Milford Appliance & Refrigeration!!!! I learned more in the first 5 minutes of calling them than the whole two weeks combined that I had been shopping around. I was so impressed by the details provided over the phone that I went into the warehouse and was even more impressed by the inventory and most importantly- how clean the pre owed units were. I purchased a Washer and it was delivered that very same day... not just delivered but INSTALLED along with a satisfaction guarantee warranty!!!!! I highly recommend this Locally Owned and Operated...
