Food Lion — Local services in Rockingham

Since there are not many options for groceries in this area, I go to Food Lion as it is the closest to me. I learned a while back that I needed to make sure to check the expiration dates. And also make sure that the chicken is not thrown in the same bag as my grapes and/or bread. Today was one of the worst experiences here, though. Even above when I had a cashier drop a drink and it sprayed all over me and instead of offering me a napkin, she cleaned up the register/belt and I had to ask for something to get the dripping mess off of me and my grocery bags. When the manager is standing by the plastic bins (which were full, as alway) smoking a cigarette with another associate while you stand there waiting for them to move only to have him say, "looks like it's full," I do not have high expectations for any of the associates working for him. This is after having to move a cart to look for something during which the same manager walked down the aisle and did not correct this situation. We pay too much for groceries for this kind...

My Food Lion is exceptionally clean, the people who work there are polite, clean in apperance, and go out of their way to be helpful, they even help unload my cart at the check out counter when I'm juggling items with both hands! Jessica who is usually on a register has gone out of her way for me on more than one occasion. Meats are beautiful, produce presented attractively and always fresh. I love that competitive store coupons are accepted and that every once in awhile I receive a fold over of coupons, some free offers, for store offerings addressed to my family. No other market does this for me. I've never been to any other supermarket where the service and the employees offered such friendly service. In my house when I say "I'm going to the store", there isn't any question it's always Food Lion. I like this Food Lion because it is clean and employees are nice to me plus Grocery Pickup and the closest one to me. I always check the circular on Wednesday and check the MVP sales online to see whatz up. Most of the time I can beat Walmart and Food King 🤓. I like other food lion stores but I don't go out of my way unless I have other errands close by and like to look around too! More later...
