Kathy and I visit Elks lodges as we tour the country in our RV. Most lodges are friendly and welcoming to visitors. On the day we visited the Rockland lodge, hospitality was in short supply. We entered, signed in, ordered some drinks, found a seat at a table near the bar, and that was that. No conversation from the bartender or the other members seated at the bar. One member even bought a round for the bar and excluded us. It's not that we can't buy our own refreshment. It was more like a deliberate snub. My wife went exploring to find a location where we could take a selfie to document our visit. She ran into someone who we believe was the club manager. He was extremely helpful and even hung a banner that we used as a backdrop for the photo. Oh, and he also took the photo. It's a beautiful lodge including several RV sites with electric.
