It's sad what's happened to this place since I was a kid. They're only open 3 months of the year when every single thing except the corn is grown elsewhere so they're not even able to compete with other farmers markets except on the price of the corn. They used to have a variety of corn, now it's all the standard GMO bicolor corn. They seem to have less and less variety every year of produce overall.
There's no air conditioning and they bring in the produce coming from a refridgerated area. Its wet and cold, so by the end of the day its typically rotten and much of it moldy like the blueberries and strawberries from being in the heat and humidity. The green peppers were actually frozen today. The other peppers were soft and pliable. The tomatoes, as usual, were overripe, soft and tasteless, with the best of them being reserved for restaurant business owners up front in boxes. The corn was already gone. Virtually everything you get from there has to be eaten, canned, or frozen within a day or two. And omg, the dude walking around screaming prices behind you everywhere you go is completely unnecessary. I moved away from him THREE TIMES and he basically followed me. A loudspeaker announcement in an indoor voice would have been appreciated. Plus they're just trying to get rid of old banged up produce anyway. So...

Update!!!!! 9/13 21 Everything that we touched felt as though it had just come out of a refrigerator or freezer it was ice cold. I guess we should have realized we shouldn't buy that stuff. That's on us but I bought green beans Saturday expecting to cook them Monday for dinner. I just went to cook my beans they're all moldy inside every single bean I broke open. Two of our nectarines was rotten inside and full of fruit flies. Now I have to try and get them out of my house. Most of the stuff I bought Saturday is rotten Monday. We spent $40 there that we pretty much had to throw in the garbage. So sad I will never be going back to this place again. The woman that answered the phone when we called said that they do refrigerate all their fruits and vegetables. Yet when the owner got on the phone George Block he said that she was not telling the truth. If I can add it here is the picture of a few of the green beans that I broke open. Every single green bean was like that inside. You just lost a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe visit Blocks yearly from Louisville, KY. Today we had our 2 Shihtzu/Yorkies both weighing less than 10lbs in the Cart on their Blanket and an Employee (heavy set lady, Short bobbed hair.) approached my daughter and said " animals are NOT allowed in the Building" my daughter informed her they are Service animals. The Employee followed her and said "Then you should know... they should be on a leash on the ground and Not in the cart". My daughter replied "Maybe Next Time".By ADA Law: service animals must be harnessed, leashed, or tethered in public places unless it interferes with their work or the handler's disability prevents it. People were Wall to Wall with carts today. Many very agitated with the gridlock. Our Tiny Service Animals were in the cart on their Blanket to Protect them from being ran over. Their Service and Protection is Our Priority. The Employee seemed Harassing in her Behavior and Created a Very Upsetting Situation. Blocks needs to Educate their Employees on American...
