Rose Bud City Clerk — Local services in Rose Bud

I was in white county for a funeral of my aunt. My GPS took me through Rosebud for some unknown reason to get to Mountain View. As I climbed the mountain I was followed by a big truck that road my bumper and I was trying to stay out of his way. As I entered Rosebud I totally missed the speed limit sign because of trying to watch the big truck I noticed that the truck slowed down so I did too and then realized I was in town when I saw the 35 mph sign so I immediately slowed to the speed limit but by that time the police officer had already clocked me at 66mph back at the start of town. He pulled me over a scolded me about driving “freeway speeds” through his town. I explained I am from Texas and had just came from a funeral service and before I could explain about the truck on my bumper coming up the mountain he said he couldn’t help me with a 66 in a 35. So I apologized and he gave me a ticket. My husband attempted to hire an attorney to keep it off my record for insurance purposes since I am on a fixed income and over 65. But the attorneys he contacted in Searcy said they didn’t do this kind of law. So I called to pay the ticket. The clerk was not at all friendly. Was very matter of fact and informed me that attorneys all over white county would do this kind of law. I asked her for some names of attorneys I could contact and she said she couldn’t give out that kind of information. So I agreed to pay the ticket. $340 plus 5% because I used a debit card and I have to take a defensive driving course within 90 days. Difficult to make payments especially if u don't live anywhere near rosebud. A state trooper gave me a ticket for 30 miles away from where he stopped me the next court was searcy no rose bud. Not only that I wasn't notified of a suspension until I got stopped and told I was suspended in another county ao got another ticket and 200$ on dl suspension fees alone. The only reason I made it to court was bc I decided I needed to check an see if they had rescheduled me they had for that morning! once again without notification of any form! Bc of that court I've since incurred over 2 grand over the simple fact of being too broke to pay fines for driving w out insurance if I had the money to pay it I would've but still gotta get to work to pay bills and barely make that. Not only rose bud but the whole entire judicial system is meant to keep the poor in poverty. Community service is great I love being able to help others while helping myself but whose going to keep my kids? For free? Not only that with covid nobody is accepting volunteers and if u don't have a vehicle ur screwed on being able to pay rosebud or show up to court.
